loved his response to the question about hateful remarks. didn't lower himself and kept his composure . talking about not letting ignorant people affect your confidence or your career was honestly pretty inspiring . lord knows there are enough critics out there.. he's probably dealt with far more than me and has done great despite it . exactly the kind of attitude to emulate

For me he is. He has been one of my favourite players in the league since he came in. I still can't believe we got him.

I can't get over how well spoken he is especially considering how heated i've seen him be against the Flames and look immature in game. I think it speaks greatly to his character and maturity over the years.

I truly believe now that he's signed long term if he isn't someones favourite player he will be someones top 3 favourite player by the end of the year easily and most likely a jersey buy.

Every single interview I see or hear from Kadri makes me like him more and more as a person.

This. From that game where Gio rocked him, and he gave the neck slit motion— became one of my most despised. Then as I learned more, my distain waned, and when Treliving tried to acquire him, my appreciation grew.

Everything I've seen of Kadri in interviews since he joined the team has given the impression of him being a great addition in terms of character. He comes across as a good person, but with hardness and intensity around what matters to him.

It's early days, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up wearing a letter with the Flames at some point.

He had an "A" on for the last preseason game.

Yeah, this guy is going to quickly become the favorite among tons of Flames fans. You can't teach passion and it's pretty clear the level of passion he has when he's on the ice is at extreme levels. Liked his answer when asked about the Leafs - acknowledged how important they are to him with all his time there and how he still regular talks to his former teammates, but quickly mentions the Flames are his team now.

I just hope he doesn’t take things too far in games against the Oilers as any borderline hits on McDavid could lead to discipline from the league and he’s too important to be out of the lineup.

I’d rather have a borderline hit on McDavid over p&ssy footing around him treating him like a delicate princess

He needs to agitate McDavis as much as possible, and if its borderline so be it that's his game. I would rather have a guy engaged and going after him than a Tkachuk who was a ghost.

Unfortunately putting the Oilers on the power play is not a winning formula. Have to play a solid two way game and stay out of the penalty box.

Penalties are going to be what they are - every team gets about 3.5 per game.

Most penalties by team last year:

1) NAS
2) TBL
3) MIN
4) BOS
5) MTL
6) FLA
7) ARI
8) CAR
9) OTT
10 CGY
11) COL

8 of the top 11 made the playoffs, including the two finalists. I would rather my team play physical than worry about penalties.

And I believe that stat is because the NHL gives power plays to losing teams to try and tie the games up. So of course the better teams will have more calls agains them.

Yeah, it's probably better to look at times shorthanded to remove offsetting penalties...
  1. NAS
  2. CAR
  3. MTL
  4. MIN
  5. BOS
  6. FLA
  7. ARI
  8. EDM
  9. TBL
  10. CGY

basically the same list

the point was that getting called for penalties is not a factor at all

It's about time McDavid has his head on a swivel while playing the Flames. They have made it too easy for him for long enough.
