I'd gladly take Montreal winning the #1 over most of the alternatives.

IMO, the best to worst case scenarios for the #1 pick if the Flames advance:

Columbus / Florida,
NYI / NYR,
Montreal,
Minnesota / Nashville,
Arizona,
Pittsburgh / Toronto,
Chicago,
Winnipeg / Vancouver,
Edmonton.

The Oilers look so close. Just one more 1st overall should do the trick and then they’ll be good enough to usurp a 12th place team. Just one more, I promise.

Cut to Lafrenière's face on draft lottery day. Buy Gravol stock now.

My head was begrudgingly saying I should cheer for the Oilers to at least get into the playoffs, so they don't win that draft lottery. But I instinctively let out a big cheer when Hawks tied it, and then when they went ahead. It's like every fiber in my body hates that loser team like the fury of a thousand suns.

Big thanks to Kevin Lowe letting his ego and need for some cheap press, to over rule, once again as he has done for almost 2 decades, his coach and GM.

Forcing through a Kassian signing our of nowhere, in the middle of a season, for no logical reason other then to coincide with upstaging the Flames with the Tkachuk thing, is the type of theatrics that has made that franchise a joke. Holland and Tippett will get blamed for that.

It just blows my mind that the Oilers have the best player in the game, a leading Art Ross trophy winner, the top special teams in the league, and yet, they're pretty much a bubble team. How the hell do the Oilers mess it up that bad lol.

Nope want them out like yesterdays mouldy pizza box.

Having McDaivd in his 5th year with the Oilers and only getting into the playoffs once, is precious, but at least there are all of those individual awards.

Because you gotta play some Defense, occasionally.
