Looks good but was a deflection.

Officially a Fernando OG.

I'm nervous. City are still in this.

Why are all of the City players wearing High Visibility Jackets?

Yeah a risky spot for Madrid here.

A City goal at this point would mean Madrid are the ones chasing the game.

what a horrible game ... after that nail-biter yesterday this is a huge letdown. Not surprising, but still disappointing.

Yeah a pretty dull effort from Manchester City in both legs.

If we're knocked out of this I'm going to blame Sakho for forcing us to play Kolo Toure.

Kolo Toure? Seriously? Starting? In a European Tournament? Its a miracle they've made it this far.

well at least there's no way he could possibly play worse than his brother did yesterday, so there's that.

Wow. Just....wow.

Other than a nervy first 5 minutes where Villareal got about 3 decent scoring chances they havent had a shot since.

I knew this was going to be tough but where the hell did THIS team come from?

They just put the boots to Villareal.

I don't know about putting the boots to them. It was still pretty nervy until Lallana scored that 3rd goal. One misstep by Liverpool in defense and it could have been all over.

great result though!

A Liverpool friend was trying to explain to me today that winning the Trophy (he called it a "major trophy") was more important than getting into Champions League. Is that true?

I guess if you're never going to make it past the group stage winning the Europa might be better.

Boom Locke ... boom.

God, I'm on a roll today.

Well, yes and no. Liverpool are in a massive trophy drought so adding something is great, but that CL spot is HUGE! Its a guaranteed chunk of cash next season that can be borrowed against to invest this summer.

Klopp not knowing that winning it gets them in to the CL was great though

he legitimately looked like he was shocked "oh that's great news, I'll go tell the boys immediately"
