One thing that REALLY bugs me, is that when you play a Be a GM mode, you need to have a cumulative total for goals and assists when there is the highlight after the goal (for example, it should say Hudler (15) if he just scored his 15th of the year).
That's also out for this year.
|
argh, are you kidding me?!? so it will always just say the number of goals scored in the current game in the parenthesis, so stupid......

Is there a source for that? I haven't seen anything saying guests are allowed.

The worst part is that the gameplay is actually good. The AI is better, the game flows better, you get realistic scoring chances etc.
The issue now is all the modes to actually play the game in are broken.

I'll probably still get it and will keep my pre-order.
Didn't play 14 since it wasn't on the next gen systems and I need my hockey fix.
For the most part I play to just play the game anyways, and will hope that they patch in some fixes (mainly sim to next shift for Be A Pro).

You can create players. No team creation though.

Yup. They keep taking out and reimplementing this as a presentation feature. Garbage.

Just to kick the game while its still down,
Quote:
From Operation Sports
Now that the EA Access trial period has started, Xbox One players have noticed that the list of missing modes and features in next-gen NHL 15 is much larger than previously expected. In a prior interview with Sean Ramjagsingh, some of these were hinted at but not fully disclosed, but the depth of some of the gutted features seems to be larger than initially anticipated. The following items are features which users have noticed are missing while playing the early access to NHL 15 -- keep in mind this information is preliminary and some of these could actually be in the game but well hidden. With just six hours of time to test, it doesn't leave much room to explore:
Same list as posted earlier

Time for the NHL team to be revamped, bring in some new blood.

This is part of the dilemma, those of us who only have next gen consoles don't have any other means to get our hockey gaming fix. A large part of the reason I have a gaming console period, is to play NHL. Very disappointed that the GM mode will be half baked though, some of the excluded modes are understandable, but they needed to at least deliver fully featured modes for what they are including.
Torn on whether to just bite the bullet and still get this. It really doesn't feel like EA deserves anyone's money on it though, to be honest its a rip off.

Wait a while and buy a used copy, or a cheap copy on Black Friday/Boxing Day. Don't pay full price for less than half a game.

i strongly suggest for those that haven't purchased the game, and be a gm is the mode you see yourself playing most, just avoid the purchasing until we hear about any kind of be a gm content patch.
it is really really bad.
starting with the hub.... if i'm a gm the first thing i want to see is the frigin standings. i only get a horizontal view of the teams in my division and not their point totals or anything just the w-l-otl. u can assign players to ur farm team, and that's it. you can't set any kind of lines on the farm team or anything.
outside of the playing a game itself, there is very little i see myself investing in on the game over the period of the year. i can't simulate a season and control all rosters and play the games i want with the accurate lineups. Be a gm is so shallow, i don't see the point in playing it. HUT has zero offline playing modes.
having good gameplay but no modes around it makes for a pretty crappy sports game. it's like having a shooter game that has amazing mechanics and graphics, but just half a map to play on..
I bought the digital game using ea access with the 10% discount. does anyone know how i can refund a game? i'd prefer using this dough on madden or fifa....

Or
Switch my pre-order to a different game that I might not have purchased at full price originally (FIFA? Madden?) and wait until NHL does in fact patch the game up to standard, then purchase at full-price (or whatever the used price is at the time).
Basically: the money is being spent on a games regardless. Do I spend a manageable amount on a game I'm not that interested in playing, or $30 more on a different game I wouldn't have purchased otherwise.
I seriously don't know what to do.
I think suggesting EA owes anyone anything isn't very fair, but I'm certainly bending my brain trying to think of reasons I should pay for this current title, even despite my love for the physics and overall presentation.
|
Well, as far as I'm concerned, EA owes you a completed game or a reduction in price, otherwise, they should have told everyone that they weren't going to get a completed game when they announced pre-orders. This is obviously not a problem that they are just encountering, and the way it's been handled has left a lot to be desired.
However, at 40 dollars, in a way you are getting the game for a discounted price. Is the discount enough? Not as far as I am concerned, but, I'd be more apt to pay 40 dollars for the game instead of 70.
I don't think you need to spend more money than you otherwise would have to spite EA. Just let them, sony and the NHL know of your displeasure. Maybe it'll get you some swag.

Yikes. It sounds even worse when people describe it in detail. Thanks btw, very informative.
Seriously, how did EA f up this game so badly? It just seems like an outright disaster.

ugh, i feel like a chump investing in the xbox one altogether. that 500 bucks came out of the new house BBQ budget, as i thought i could sacrifice half a summer of backyard fun for a winter's worth of hockey gaming (only game i have really invested time in over the past 3-4 years) on the latest and greatest (with my xbox360 disk drive dying this summer).

I hear you, NHL was supposed to be the game that got my fancy new console lot of use.
I still have high hopes for FIFA though. Assuming it has functioning game modes it'll be miles ahead of NHL.

i have ea access so have been fiddling around with fifa 14, considering how amazing it is, can't see them screwing up 15 at all. if anything, all reports point to being the best fifa ever.
