Also if that's the stupidest thing you have ever heard you need to get out more.
Exactly the same thing you are doing. Unless you got you're a MD and have checked out Cutler to prove he was so injured he couldn't come back in. His team and teammates can't say anything but what they are saying. So right now it's only Cutler who really knows what he could and couldn't do. Pretty easy to know the right things to say to a doctor so they say you can't go anymore. I have no doubt in my mind he threw that last pick and just said f-it.

I don't have an MD, but I do have reports citing people who do. You have... some reporters on around the horn tossing out hearsay??? Yeah, I'll take my backing over yours every single time.

Valo, while I agree with you that the criticism of Cutler not going back into the game is unwarranted especially because people on TV "would have gutted" it out have no idea what they are talking about is valid, i disagree completely about the optics.
Cutler is the QB and should be the leader, sitting around pouting just looks plain bad. It's his right and maybe teammates say they don't care but the fact remains when it comes to crunch time, you have to wonder whether guys are going to look to him to carry the team.
One thing Dilfer said on Simmons' podcast about Rodgers is that at the end of the (philly?) game when they needed a score, Rodgers got in the huddle and said "don't worry, I've got this" or something to that effect and just calmed everyone down.
I've never played high level football (I know you played college, presumably at Mich.State) but it seems to me that you need your QB to be the alpha male, and to have a swagger (as dilfer put it) and cutler just doesn't seem to have it. This just further evidences that.
Also, it doesn't help that he's known to be a bit of a dbag, people aren't going to give him the benefit of the doubt here.

I just don't see how any of the stuff shown on Sunday was Cutler sitting around pouting though, I mean Hanie has come out and said that Cutler was a big help to him. Like I said before, you can make anyone look disinterested if you're only using a few seconds of clips here and there. I don't know that Cutler has the personality or whatever it is that makes a great QB, but I do know that deciding that he doesn't based off of what you see on TV is pretty ridiculous. I guess I'm just really sick of all the arm-chair QBing that goes on nowadays, it's gotten to the point where every little action is analyzed to death, and typically by people who either don't know what they're talking about or who are only interested in drawing attention to themselves.
BTW, I didn't play at MSU. I was too slow, fat, weak and all around not good enough for that. I played CJFL and breifly in the CIS.

If I had to guess, a lot of the couch Doctors, including the players, were basing their opinions on the fact that the Bears told Fox that Cutler's return was "questionable". If indeed Cutler was ruled out by Bears training staff, that is what the Bears staff should have told Fox. The Bears gave Cutler a series after half time to try out his knee and apparently at that point he was too injured to continue.
By saying questionable, that implies, at least to me, that there is a chance Cutler can come back into the game. Perhaps the Bears were trying not to give away any information. But by doing so they set an expectation (that Cutler can possibly come back). And when Cutler was subsequently shown standing on the sideline, it made it appear that he wasn't even attempting to come back.

Yeah, that certainly does open the door to people assuming he was good enough to play if he wanted to. I think it was probably wishful thinking for the most part, once they went with Hanie it was a moot point anyways as Cutler wouldn't have been allowed back in.

Not a The Onion fan, but today's headline was pretty funny. "Roethlisberger One Win Away From Being A Good Person".
Still don't know who I'm picking yet, though I seem to be leaning towards the Steelers so far. That`d be cool to see A-Rodg win a title though.

Packers fans are awesome!!

You root for the Packers in this Super Bowl because most of the hotels in Green Bay are sold out for the game. Yes, hotels in Green Bay are sold out for a game in Dallas. "Packers fans just have to watch with other Packers fans. ... Last time we were in a Super Bowl, I came to open up in the morning and I had 1,000 people waiting to get in. At 8 a.m. I turned the lock and ran for it.

Stadium View is a great bar. Last time I was there (2004?), there was a corner booth reserved for the ol' gunslinger. Wonder if it's still there?

If the Chiefs ever made the Super Bowl, I would head to Kansas City to watch the game. I think we had this discussion last Super Bowl.

Favre, I was wondering if they kept it reserved for him even after the moves to NYJ and MIN.
I would have rather been in New Orleans than in Miami for the Super Bowl last year. Seeing the videos of the reactions at the bars downtown was reason enough. The party in the Quarter after would have been monumental!

Brett Keisel looks like old man winter, maybe he caused the ice storm in Dallas.
Getting geared up for what should be a good game. Last year the Steelers edged out the Packers 37-36 in a game where Roethlisberger threw for over 500 yards. Steelers got a late lead of 34-28 and IIRC tried an onside kick to keep the ball. Packers got a TD and 2 point convert to go up 1, than the Steelers drove for the game winning field goal. Hopefully this game is siilar as that was an entertaining finish.

I'm calling it 24-19 for the Packers.

Other inductees in the class of '11:
Deion Sanders
Richard Dent
Marshall Faulk
Chris Hanburger
Ed Sabol
Les Richter
Very, very happy to see Ed Sabol get in. His contributions to make the NFL what it is today are immeasurable. NFL Films was instrumental in building the league. As a kid, I loved watching Sabol's productions and in many ways, they prompted me to fall in love with football.

I would have put both of them in ahead of Sanders and Dent, but that's just me.
