Jeannot is an RFA, is tough and nails and can play.

Well his best option in the 2018 offseason would have been to sign Tkachuk longterm.
In 2016 I would have tried to sign my young players to the max term before I tried to sign Brouwer.
Sign your young guys first for as long as possible and then go get some senior citizen leadership from the UFA pile.

With the strong teams getting stronger, now is NOT the time to be a buyer. The "anything can happen" mentality is going to cost this team assets though. They should be offering guys like Coleman and Backlund with retained salary.

Raymond was a three year deal though and that’s where it made little sense. If getting to the floor was the objective, overpay a player for one year. Don’t overextend on term.

Nobody can "GAF" on this team when your #1 goalie leaks like a sieve and has you down by 2 before you can blink.
This team has more toughness than most teams, they lack skill, finishing and scoring.
I think we'll be better off holding onto a 2nd/3rd round pick than blowing on an RFA looking to cash in.

Well if we somehow make the playoffs we would play the first place team in the Central division, which would likely be the Colorado Avalanche. So I hope we don’t burn any assets for that honour.

Toughness that can't play is useless.
I agree our goalies have sucked but the entire offence lacks an identity. We need to find players who can fit a mold and move forward.
Also, Jeannot is no where near looking to cash in, guy has had a rough season and we could probably get him at a bargain rate. He has shown last season that he can score, he is fast and plays with grit. Why not take a chance ?

I LOVE Jeannot, and I think he would make a difference to this team, but I wouldn’t expect him to return to same form offensively as last year. He’s a favourite of mine, though.
I wouldn’t want Reeves at this point, but I would love to have Wilson and Jeannot.

Come on now, doesn’t matter how long the rebuild should have been. Signing a three year contract to reach the floor is a brutal idea. Why constrain yourself for no benefit whatsoever?
