i would do the original deal for an unsigned stone no problem
it works out to a late 1st and a bunch of flotsam. Start the Car!

Probably competing with Winnipeg
The firsts would be equivalent . So you would be competing prospect wise.
Winnipeg probably dangles Vesalainen or Roslovic. so the Flames would have to beat that piece.

I really hope they are not considering Howard.
He's very inconsistent, and hasn't been great after having a good start to the season.
Since Dec 1.
Howard: .901
Smith: .899
Rittich: .903
Aka - he's not an upgrade on Smith or Rittich.

2nd + 5th round pick for zucc is a much better deal than a 3rd + 5th for Michael Stone.
|
Backlund is fifth in scoring. Whatever. As I said, I take your point.
I'd do it for a 2nd and a 5th too. That doesn't seem like what is being asked for or what will get it done if there are as many teams in on it seems.

Well you can't do that and then not share the details of what you may know.

If you know something, either share it or keep it to yourself.
These kinds of posts are the worst.

2019 1st
2020 1st/2nd (Conditional on Stone re-signing with CGY)
Dube
Mangiapane
Gaudreau - Monahan - Stone
Tkachuk - Backlund - Lindholm
Frolik - Jankowski - Neal
Bennett - Ryan - Hathaway
Rychel - Quine - Czarnik/Lazar
Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Kylington - Andersson
Valimaki - Stone/Prout
Rittich/Smith
Deep team. Damn deep.
Then in the off season look to deal Brodie, Frolik and even Neal (if he has a good finish to the season) for 2019/2020 picks, depending on the cap situation.

My prediction:
To CGY: Mark Stone (50% retained)
To OTT: 2019 1st round pick, 2020 1st round pick*, 2020 2nd round pick, Emilio Pettersen, Spencer Foo
*If Stone does not re-sign, 1st round pick becomes 2020 3rd round pick
Calgary's inclusion of the 2nd round pick, and the fact that the Flames are more likely to re-sign Stone is how Treliving wins the bidding war Vs. The Jets.
Mark Stone isn't re-signed until Day 2 of the NHL Entry Draft, as Treliving trades TJ Brodie and Michael Frolik to open up the space to extend Stone on Day 1 of the draft.
We go into the playoffs with:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Stone
Frolik - Backlund - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Ryan - Neal
Bennett - Jankowski - Czarnik
Hathaway
Deepest team upfront in the entire league. Roll 4 lines all night, with players minutes going up thanks to special teams, otherwise 5v5 minutes are generally equal.

There's always some ####### near the trade deadline reporting fake rumours on this board to make a name for themselves.

Hall isn't even on TSN's Top-50 list. I guess there's no expectation for the Devils to trade him.

I could live with this I think. the question is: does it beat what the Jets are offering? I doubt it.

If he was a UFA? Yes. If it was all we could get. Given there appears to be a bidding war (if you believe what you read), I suspect that it will take a prospect. A fifth is a lottery ticket.

The night with his wife would have to be conditional.
