The "Cowboys" with Romo and Owens just on a super roll sure looked good though plenty of room for improvement still on defense. Cowboys as per usual have to do the Thanksgiving thing and the super quick turnaround will be tough battering them up before the Green Bay game. But as long as they are healthy for that match it should be an excellent contest!!

easy there, Johnny boy. I could say the same thing about Cowboy fans. I've been a Pats fan for 25 years.

Kurt Warner simply does not get enough credit for what he's doing this year. He's playing behind a bad line, with no running game, with numerous injuries, and yet he's putting up some damn good numbers and winning ball games. He's even making ridiculous and ill-advised plays that are working out that people love.

I wouldn't call the Cards line bad this year, but average. I'm a big Cards fan so I know quite a bit about how they've played this year.
Their pass protection has been excellent all year. They've only allowed 13 sacks which is tied for 4th in the NFL. That's particularily impressive with a statue like Warner in the pocket (Leinart played for a couple weeks before his injury, but he's not very mobile either). Definitely top 10 in this regard.
The running game has been off and on. In the five games they were good with Edge being in the top 3 in rushing. But lately they've reverted back to last season's 2 yards/carry form. Probably around 18-25th in rush blocking.
And, yes, Warner deserves a ton of credit for his play this year. Most players would still be out with his elbow injuries, but he's played the past 3 games with the most ridiculous brace imaginable.

You would be one of a very, very limited number other than the locals. I started out as a Cowboys fan when Dandy Don was behind the center. And there are absolute legions of longtime Cowboy fans -- Can you say the same about the Patriots?

Yeah, but the Cowboys are a storied NFL franchise with a legacy that dates back to the days when the AFL and NFL merged. Many of the readers on this board where in the 8-14 range the last time the Cowboys were a prominant team in the early to mid 90's. Really we have two really prominant Pats fans on the board in Habernac and Troutman. Both of whom seem to be Pats fans from before the days of them getting clobbered by the Bears in Superbowl 15.

I've been a Chiefs fan since 1988....which is long enough for them to have won exactly nothing....1 measley appearance in the AFC Championship game in that time frame....seriously...only the Texans and the "new" Browns have done less in that time frame. So of all the teams in the AFC who've existed for that entire time frame they're the worst of the bunch, only the Jets and Dolphins IIRC have accomplished as little or less. Very, very sad.

That's because they've won titles. Do you think the Cowboys would be as popular if they had the same record as a team like the Bengals? And I do agree that there are definitely band wagon Pat fans out there and lots of them. I just hate being lumped in there with them.

Not that it should really matter in the first place, but I've been a Patriots fan since 92. Funny thing is, I became a Patriots fan because I was a fan of Doug Flutie when he joined the Stamps that year and I found out he played for the Patriots before.
The timing is funny as it was right around that time when things really started to change for the Pats with the drafting of Bledsoe, the hiring of Bill Parcells as head coach, the new team logo and the changing of the team colours... not to mention the continuous rumours back then of the possible relocation of the franchise.
On a side note, I've always found it a little silly for "Fan A" to "call out" "Fan B" for being a "bandwagoner" just because "Fan B" is younger, which apparently makes him less of a fan than "Fan A" who was cheering for said team before the other guy was even born.
Never understood why people got so angry at the new fans the Flames received after the '04 run.

OK consider yourself unlumped -- yes there are indeed reasons why there are longtime Cowboys fans other than titles. They weren't winning the big one in Dandy Don's day either but they were the only team we would ever hear about or so it seemed. Ditto with Notre Dame. Heck since I can remember you could always expect to see the Boys and the Irish on TV every weekend. Much like in the old days it was become a Leafs or Habs fan.
But yeah the bandwagon Patriots fans are in over abundance!!!!!!

Been a diehard Colts fan since 1990. Had to wait till 1995 for them to make their first playoff appearance since I was a fan. Had to watch some tough teams (the 1-15 1991 team comes to mind as do the 3-13 97 and 98 teams). Things turned around in 1999 and the team has made the playoffs in 7 of the last 8 years and obviously winning the Superbowl last year was the highlight of it all. It's been a full turnaround from that 1-15 1991 team to the 2006 Superbowl win and there has been a lot of good and bad in between. I remember the Jim Harbaugh days like they were yesterday and we were one hail mary pass from going to the Superbowl in 95.

As a Bengals fan since 1981 (Kenny Anderson was my first favorite NFL player, followed shortly afterwards by Boomer), this hurts!! Especially since the reason I initially started cheering for them was that I was basically a bandwagoner - that was the first year I watched the Super Bowl. If only my youngish self had picked the 49'ers at that time!

because I have really no vested interest in any team in the NFL I cheer for stories/players. Right now i'm cheering for the patriots because I want them to go 16-0 and win the super bowl and I find them incredibly exciting.

Well as I stated...back in the late 80's when I decided to pick a team to make my own...I made the worst possible choice. As a result in order to maintain some semblance of interest in the league I often find another team to pull for as well. Right now the team I want to see succeed is the Browns. The fans in Cleveland are great, but Modell yanked that team from them and practically ripped their hearts out (worse than Elway!). They've continued to support the team and the new Browns have been slow to develop. Finally it looks like somethings coming together for them and the team is routinely finding itself in exciting games every week. My Chiefs are dead in the water again....so my feel good story this year is the Browns who I also keep an eye on.

Once you have a team, gambling and divison rivalries take care of the rest. When the Eagles aren't playing, I'll cheer for whoever is on my Pro-Line ticket and whoever is playing the Skins, Cowboys or Giants.

I tell ya, these past few years have sure sifted out the true 49ers fans.
There was a guy who lived half a block away who used to have a 49ers spare tire cover until a few years ago when he switched it to a Steelers cover. Meanwhile, I got heckled pretty good wearing my 49ers Jersey to MNF at a bar last week.

Funny enough I was at the Niners game yesterday, and the tailgating faithful were awesome. I got to the stadium at 10 am local for a corporate deal, and there were at least 250 trucks fully equipped w/ tents and bbq's, very impressive despite the state of the niners, who were awful yesterday. Also, it was alumni day, and if you're old time 49ers fan, I met Y.A Tittle, RC Owens and Jesse Sapolu, who was great, fun day, bad football.

Agreed! However...
I am not a Pats "fan" but I do love watching them play with all their talent and current domination. So does that make me a bandwagoner because I cheer for them?
I don't really have a favorite team in the NFL right now because I am kind of a new fan and only got into it so much because of betting. However now I am just in love with it and can't get enough.
Personally I think the NFL is the best sport to watch over any other sport and this year has been the year I have really, really gotten into it. NFL Network is playing on my TV for probably 80% of the time, I have just fallen in love with the league. Its not just the sport, its the talent, the trash talking/hype to every week, how the matchups work and so on. I love how every game matters so much compared to the 82-164 games other sports play.
I just don't get the point of jumping all over bandwagon fans, what does it really matter to you? How does that effect the way you watch and enjoy the game? Why care...
Go Cardinals Go!
