If a sinkhole swallows the entire city, why not swallow that stinking team as well.

I thought it would apparent that the team, arena, and all other things Edmonton Oilers related would be lost forever.

Still a bad contract.

I'd rather have kuch if I'm looking for pure scoring. Or, huberdeau + sharky with change left over.

If McDavid leaves, I'm curious at how much of a hit Draisaitl's production will take. But he's been better than McDavid this year and took over last night's game so he'll probably still be highly productive without him

He won the MVP when McDavid was hurt

Now I'm confused. International Villager admitted he was an Oiler fan, then he swore he was a Flames fan, now he's an Oilers fan again.

To EDM
Marner
Niemella
Woll
2027 1st

To TOR
Mavi
Skinner
Why would Marner agree to this??

What is that thing that every village has? May be International Villager is that thing?

Marner won’t necessarily have a chance to sign with a team that is “so called a contender”. Have to think he would be interested in playing with a prime Draisaitl if the Leafs don’t want him long term.

Dude, as a UFA he will go where most young stars go when given the chance and we all know that won't be Edmonton, my guess he'll either go to Detroit (to stay close to home) or San Jose

Why would he allow the Leafs sign and trade him when he can just be a UFA and do whatever he wants

I actually think Draisaitl is better than McDavid at this point.

And he's 30, or turning that. It's all downhill from here.

I don't think loiler fans realize how long 8 years is. So much can go sideways over that time when they are 30+ years.

You begin losing muscle mass and your testosterone takes a hit as your hormones change in your 30s. Biology dictates that the dude won't be tip top in a few years and able to perform at the same level. The injuries are increasing in frequency as it is.

They should sign McDavid to 18 million as well. Yes please. He's already on the downslide and they'll just overplay him into continual injuries and fatigue. He'll be able to make plays still, but he'll pick his spots more while phoning it in the rest of the time to conserve energy. He plays hard in a very specific area of the ice while the all around game is just getting worse - as evidenced in the Four Nations.

He can thank Marner for setting him up with a can't miss scoring opportunity, but until that point the dude did a lot more to sabotage Canada's efforts than help them.

They'd do better with just LD (one soon to be albatross) and flipping McRegressing for a king's ransom, but I hope they sign him for max dollars.

And Douchard for 10 x 8 to bring his no-defense defending without the contract incentive. Would make for an incredible cap structure that will be a nightmare in 3-4 years lol. Maybe less!

It's been a few months, so a refresher on Draisaitl's output in the Stanley Cup Finals, the seven largest games of his career:

0 goals
0 goals
0 goals
0 goals
0 goals
0 goals
0 goals

And on the ice for nine goals against in seven games at even strength.

Assuming the offers are the same, which they wouldn't be. It should be possible for his agent to squeeze out that 10 million on the open market when every team can bid for his rights.
