At least one less Nixon is in charge. Stupid moron. I warned him he'd lose his seat if he didn't reject crazy, but he coddled up to it.

I think Albertans smelled BS very well only it was with Notley and the NDP.

She ran a campaign where she lost seats and is easily the least likable premier I can recall among a huge portion of the voting populace. This is a province that for 50 years has overwhelmingly elected conservatives. If this is anything but a hollow victory I would be shocked.
This province is being led by rural Alberta and if you have ever spent time in rural Alberta you would realize why that isn't a good thing.

I trust Smith to protect Alberta’s interests way more than Notley period.

A majority for sure but nothing very comforting at all if we get some fracture in the party and we have pushback from the larger cities.

That one will vote with UCP every single time. And may well be back in caucus shortly.
They will all toe the Smith line. Just like they did with the stupid bill 1.

This is just not an actual answer to the question. It amounts to “because”.

Beyond the easily identifiable string of lies form Smith, you are not concerned about voting for someone guilty of breaching the conflict of interest act? Morality doesn't matter to you? Or it's OK, because she was defending your buddy, Artur?

Okay sure but why would the UCP want to keep Smith around? Do you actually like her as a leader? Do you trust her not to put her foot in her mouth again? Do you think that she is the best that the UCP can offer? Do you have any concerns about the UCP at all or are you just a parrot for whatever press release comes next?

Smith does what she says.
I don’t care what anyone says Alberta is too important and I don’t trust Notley to not be a lap dog of Trudeau.
The rest of the stuff is just fluff that opposition put countless time and money into discrediting Smith on old tapes imo.

Vastly disappointed, but not surprised. I fear for our healthcare system. I think we see a lot of doctors leaving the province after this.

So which is it? Does she do what she says, or not?

You didn't even slightly respond to the question.
Am I allowed a follow-up?

LOL, no she doesn't. She said no more floor crossings, and crossed the floor herself. She said she'd get all the Convoy crazies off the hook, she didn't do that. She said "no second chances" for feces cookie, and the next day says well, shucks, she'll be back soon!
But I guess that's good enough for you. Why don't you just say the real reason? Stop with the "NDP lies" and Smith is trustworthy and honorable BS. Obviously you know that's not true, but overlook it. So out with it, look deep inside of you, what's the real reason you support her so much?

What has she done? Legitimately she hasn't done anything yet.
You shouldn't just ignore the past when it isn't convenient for you. Smith has decades worth of inflammatory statements how you feel it is okay to just say that it is fluff is beyond me. What better way do we have of judging someone than if not on their own words and actions.
Look I will never change your views but I do hope that you have actually had some form of critical insight over the past few months and have thought about things a bit more than you have let on here.
