Trump is a moron, racist, sexist pig, and wholly unfit to hold any public office. . . . But when he referred to his comments as "Locker room talk" he was pretty accurate, in my experience. Pretty much every male only locker room I've been in has featured a tonne of objectifying of women, bragging/exaggerating of conquests, and general vulgarity that none of the participants would want aired on the news.

Again, it doesn't excuse any of Trumps actions towards women, but I have no doubt that he has heard as bad or worse from Bill Clinton on the golf course, and likely many other politicians people have had no hesitation in voting for.

IMO most men are someone on the pig spectrum in the right circumstances, which is why I've long encouraged my niece to give lesbianism a try.

No question that sometimes some pretty lewd things get said, but in the words of Biden:

"The words are demeaning. Such behavior is an abuse of power. It’s not lewd. It’s sexual assault"

What Trump said is NOT just locker room talk, unless the guys in your locker room casually discussed sexually assaulting women without their consent. Because that's what Trump was advocating.

I've been in locker rooms and other male dominated environments that had language that wouldn't play well on the news. But not a single one ever talked about sexual assault in a positive way like Trump did.

Not only that, but this is a man selling the office of highest power where the public's faith in it's institutions is grounded in their trust of the person elected

People saying that CNN reports Pence is considering quitting doesn't seem to have any merit that I can find, but I think it wore out my schadenfreude gland.

I assume you're referring to Trump's comment "When you're a star they'll let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the p***y..." In which case, ya, I have. Being around junior hockey players when I was younger, and more recently some guys who fancy themselves players and have a tonne of money to throw around, I've heard plenty of guys bragging about what girls have let them do that make that look like a church sermon.

I completely agree with that sentiment, and think Trump had disqualified himself on those grounds ages ago. But I also expect that a large number of men sitting in the house and senate (i.e. men who enjoy, and have enjoyed, the trappings of power) would feel right at home in that conversation, Bill Clinton included.

It's not just that...it's the abuse of perceived power to perpetrate those assaults that should be the main focus here. This guy has a sense of entitlement based on his ego, wealth, power etc. How does that dynamic play out on the world stage as President?

I don't want to find out.

That's not to say the assault on women isn't important too, it is. Not all of us talk/think like that.

I'm going to go ahead and regurgitate the crow I ate a few months ago for saying Trump was unelectable several months before that.

The reason we call it locker room talk though is because locker rooms are usually full of twenty year olds, I play seniors soccer and you don't hear any of this kind of drivel, just complaints about ex wives and knee joints, Trump was in his sixties when this was recorded, that he thinks that excuses it is as sad as the conversation.

I've been in locker rooms before too and don't recall people bragging about sexual assaulting anyone and getting away with it because they were popular. What a clown. And shame on anyone dismissing it as locker room talk. What kind of ####ing rapists and #######s are you hanging out with and playing sports with??

Anyone after this who denies the existence of rape culture is as much an idiot as people who deny evolution or question the moon landing.

I've seen this from a few Trump surrogates/supporters as their new defense: If 80 million women bought 50 Shades of Grey, who exactly is offended by his comments? What more is there to add about these people? Can they ever just take a loss and just eat it? The party of personal responsibility has been turned into the party of "Mommy, it's their fault!".

She must be proud.

What position of authority do you hold that your comments would matter? See, there is a difference. When you're a young kid, flipping burgers, no one really cares about your asinine comments. But when you are a mature person in a position of power or authority, your comments hold much more importance. We'll see if you make the same boorish comments when you're older, married, and have a daughter of your own. Your view of these comments will change dramatically when you have some context.

You haven't been accused of rape and actually doing this to strangers, and if you were running for prime minister and I found out you said that I wouldn't view for you either

This begs the obvious question: What? Obviously we know what Trump said and most people think it's pretty messed up. So unless you outright admitted to rape, you probably didn't.
