Good god Denver's Oline is garbage.
The best deke of CJ's career was on whoever tried to give him the jump celebration after that TD

I doubt Brock is in any danger of getting benched yet, especially with Tom Savage and Brandon Weeden as the backups, but the Texans will be drafting a QB high this year you'd think.

Arian Foster called it a career today.
Quote:
"There comes a time in every athlete's career when their ambition and their body are no longer on the same page. I've reached that point," Foster wrote.
"This game has been everything to me ... my therapy, my joy, my solace and my enemy. I've learned to love every facet of this game, from the peak of accomplishment to the gutter of criticism, " Foster wrote.
Foster added: "I am walking away in peace. I know it is not commonplace to do it midseason but my body just can't take the punishment this game asks for any longer."

Not to pile on Brock too much, but he has three games this season with 40 pass attempts and fewer than 200 yards. Yeesh. Thankfully for the Texans the AFC South is still a dumpster fire so they'll probably still win it going 9-7 again.

Brock Osweiler has murdered Deandre Hopkins for fantasy purposes. 1st degree pre-meditated murder.

I think it would be so much more enjoyable to watch if the following was implemented
- cut play clock by 5 seconds
- less time between TD and convert
- introduce play clock from the moment the convert has concluded to kick off
This would then take out the dreaded TD, commercial, extra point, commercial. I just find too many games to be a drag and too much time spent in between possessions, plays, etc.

If you just reduce the amount of commercials after possession changes it would reduce the time tremendously.
Notice how in the first five minutes they don't do commercials after the first possession change of the game? But from then on out, pretty much every possession change consists of a commercial break. And sometimes if points are scored, there's commercials before AND after the kickoff. That's just dumb!
I remember there was one afternoon game the Broncos had a couple seasons ago I believe, where the entire first quarter didn't have a commercial break because an earlier game was in overtime. It was crazy just how fast the quarter took to complete.
If the commercials where limited to occur at certain points in the game clock like in hockey, it would speed up the game tremendously. Each quarter should have three commercial breaks at most. When you factor in pregame, 6 commercial breaks per half (12), and halftime, that's plenty of time for ads. You're still gonna see a bunch that repeat throughout the game.

Huh, #Eagles are trying for Alshon Jeffery after all.
Would need him to work out long term deal. Mid round pick to #Bears as compensation.

Really wish they would move the trade deadline back a month. I think we'd get more action after week 12 because a lot more teams will be out and willing to sell. But really at this point only the Bears, Browns and 49ers are truly out of it, so teams are more reluctant to sell if they're still in it.

Panthers and Jags are done, too, but neither have the type of pieces they'd want to sell off.

Appearing on Wednesday's edition of Up to the Minute Live, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that there are no Jeffery trade talks between the Bears and Philadelphia Eagles.
Rapoport further explained that it's "essentially unprecedented" to trade a franchise player because the new team cannot sign the tagged star prior to the start of free agency.
|
If that's the case then there's really no reason for the Eagles to trade for him but I'd expect them to take a hard run at him in FA.

Panthers are definitely not done. Maybe if Atlanta closed the door in their last two games, but 9-7 will absolutely be good enough to win that division. Their schedule eases up a lot after a hard start, so 8-2 to finish is doable for them. Jacksonville should be done, but the AFC South is even worse than the NFC South, so 8-8 or even 7-9 will definitely be in play to win that division, so Jacksonville is still in it even if they are crap.

#Broncos RB CJ Anderson has told people close to him that he's done for the year, I am told. Awful.

I don't think this will hurt Denver too badly. I'm unreasonably high on Booker and think he'll play well enough that Denver may let CJ go after this year.
