Not really sure what I felt about the soldier walkers. I am not a rah-rah military person, but that seemed almost distasteful.

Why would soldiers be immune to becoming walkers?

It was more Rick and Michonne's unceremonious killing of them. I dunno, I am sure I t's probably just me, but I just thought it was a bit off.

Not much got resolved on that episode. Hey, we spent the whole hour getting the guns needed to get this war going! Time to move the story on, right? Nope! Go find more guns. Ugh. Really? Go to Oceanside already. We know it is coming. This felt like a massive filler episode.

Here's me watching that episode last night:
"Oh look, Rick and Michonne are out doing badass things." (yay!)
"Damn, looks like they've stumbled upon a military complex that also had a fair for some reason? Ok, not sure how nobody else found that with all the scouting going on in this area over the years, but whatever." (meh)
"Great, we're still on this thing with Rosita being as annoying as she can possibly be." (yawn)
"Wait...are they trying to make me think that they would kill Rick off in such an unceremonious manner? I mean that would be a ballsy move to do that. It would really throw the audience off and expectations would be more like Game of Thrones moving forward...nah, they wouldn't do that. That would be a weird way to end the most important character..........OH look! Rick's okay. Shocking." (hahaha, nice try)
"Wow, that's a major stash of food and guns. Clearly we're moving into the next stage of the story finally.......
......no, wait. That's not ENOUGH guns??? Are you serious? This must have been the producer to the writing staff:
I seriously can't believe that they're not going to progress the story yet." (facepalm)
"Oh, fine, now Tara steps up with her knowledge of the female militia. WTF writers? Why bother forcing us to jump through all those hoops just to get to the points we always knew we were going to get to?" (grumble grumble, rabble rabble)
Honestly, that was one of the most annoying episodes I've seen on this show in a long time, and that's including the entire episode dedicated to Tara.

Yeah....that wasnt brilliant, but what it did was appeal to people who wanted more unfettered zombie-related violence.
In other, somewhat unrelated news, I want Rick to shoot that stupid woman/leader in the face.
Guns. Not enough.
Use your words you complete tool! Countless people and societies have been destroyed by the zombie apocalypse and only your dumb ass has devolved to the point where you forgot how to speak!

I'd say it's more likely that the military setup some sort of refugee centre right when everything started, much like we saw on Fear the Walking Dead. Just happens to be that this school was hosting a fair at the time. That would also make sense given that the MREs were still on pallets; as having just been delivered.
I am willing to suspend a little bit of doubt as to them finding that cache of food. Inside a building that had dozens of walker around it, and with the area being a little isolated- it could have been overlooked. Rick and Michonne only stumbled upon it while looking for the deer.

I am usually a staunch defender of the show but one thing that bothered me last night was Michonne firing that sniper rifle should have worked those zombies into a frenzy.
That wasn't really a military complex, it was a high school converted into a survivor centre. From what I gathered it sounded like they were a day or two out so it could easily be missed/undiscovered.

^ Yeah, fair enough on both your points, which is why I said "meh". It didn't bother me that much. However, considering the reach of the saviors and how many people they have out there scavenging for them, I find it dubious that nobody found it until now.
It's really a small thing. What got me going was the "not enough guns" BS.

I had no problem with it.
What I had more of a problem with is they didn't appears to scavenge any helmets/body armour.

It was also funny that, back at say,the prison, a horde of walkers at the fence could eventually work their way through. But here they encounter a 3 foot high fence and just bump against it waiting to be slaughtered. It was all very non-scary, and almost comedic. The tone of the walkers just isn't what it used to be.

Two things at play I think.
1: the show has said that the walkers degrade as time goes on, as the soldier in the windshield proves, so they may have less ability to "push" on items, ie: they are getting "weaker"?
2: I seem to recall the numbers on the fence at the prison where a lot higher, and again earlier in the event so "stronger"?.

That actually got me thinking. At when they were driving back I was wondering where they were going to stash everything- especially the guns. Negan's group has shown that they will show up unannounced. Then it shows they obviously went back to Alexandria, picked up some people, and had time to clean a few guns.
So what got me thinking is that while this may be a safe place to stash the guns- so that Negan won't find them, I wonder if this group is any more trustworthy than Negan? For all we know they may be worse, or even that Negan himself was part of this group originally and somehow escaped. Another thing is they may be so cryptic as to not reveal how evil they actually are.

What got me thinking more it ammo. They are going to need a poop tonne yet there is no mention of this. Hey we got a bunch of guns and crates of ammo. I mean I don't expect 5 mins of them cross loading ammo crates, but at least give us a throw away line that acknowledges it, or show ammo crates in the building with MRE's.

Yeah, they took the time to show the soldiers and their ammo holders on their belts recently opened. However I agree- that still isn't enough for an all-out assault.
