Is anyone watching this game? I feel like this is the problem with the NHL now. The players are just way too good defensively. I think I've seen like 1 shot, 0 chances today as I've been flipping back and forth to other sports where things actually happen.

Yawn.

Nice vote of confidence for Backlund, with his line being played against the Ovechkin line. And thus far, Backlund's line has kept the majority of the play in their offensive zone.

I don't think there's any problem with the NHL. I really don't see why people complain about lack of scoring. The game moves faster end to end than it ever has.

Got to disagree with the announcers. All the players were off the ice.

Markstrom's gear is ridiculous. It's a prime example of why it needs to be cut down. His shoulders and chest are way over-bloated.

uh Markstrom is 6'5

He has outplayed lundqvist so far. Time to pass the torch.

Backlund's line has been awesome, pinned Ovechkin in his own zone.

That doesn't mean he's allowed to have an extra 2 inches added to his shoulder height and have a completely closed gap between his chest and his arms unless he's starfishing.

Unless you're talking about his diameter, being 6'5" has nothing to do with how wide a goalies equipment needs to be.

Backlund has been very noticeable in the D zone this game. Not much going on offensively but he looks solid so far.

Backlund out with 10 seconds left taking the face off against Datsyuk in a 2-1 game.

Looks to be tied 2-2. Under review. Don't think it'll count.

Sweden wins 2-1. Didn't watch it all but Backlund looked strong defensively.

Backlund had a great game. Centering against some of the most dangerous players in the world and shut them down. A lot of great defensive plays both keep the puck in the O-Zone and on the backcheck.

His whole line was great.
