Bean himself tries to model his game after Cam Fowler, and I think that's a pretty good comparison. They are similar in their physicality, size, and puck-moving abilities.
But in terms of high-end comparisons, I'd say Bean is fairly similar to Keith. They are both puck movers and distributors. Bean does seem to rely more on closer wrist shots, while Keith takes slapshots from the point. In the NHL, I think Bean would have to tone down the tough/risky plays and learn to rely more on his teammates.
He's definitely an offensive player, but Jake Bean is actually pretty good all around. His smarts make him decent defensively, and he can be physical at times.
I do wonder how much playing with Sanheim has affected his play and progression.
He recently tied Postma's Hitmen record for goals (23, Postma achieved this at 20 years old).

NHL Draft: Finnish top prospect Jesse Puljujarvi of Karpat is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury. http://tinyurl.com/jjwcyxq
Don't think it is going to affect his draft status at all really. my mind would be blown if he didn't go in the top 3.

^ They need top tier D prospects equally as much as at the forwards ranks as well. If not more so as I don't see any striking top talent D prospects in their system. At least of the same quality as Chychrun, Sergachyev and Juolevi. Jordan Subban might be a good offensive D man like Ghost from Philly eventually, Anton Cedarholm? ECHL bound player doing okay.
They just inked their Kanzig equivalent in Tryamakin to an ELC. Hutton is already up with the big club.
Whats a Pedan? Looks okay in the AHL stats wise.
Thats 3 maybe potential D prospects with decent upside? Yeah, they're taking a D man.
EDIT: And we know how Benning feels about top end offensive talent. He don't like them, thanks for Shinkaruk pal.

Just look back at the 2014 draft - Flames took Hunter Smith at 54. Next pick was Brandon Montour by Anaheim - he's got 42 points in 52 games in the AHL as a defenseman. A few picks later was Christian Dvorak who's got 113 points in 53 games in the OHL and played in the world juniors this year. If Hunter Smith was 6'2 would the Flames have taken him at 54? Doubtful.

Yikes. That hurts. Always hind site but the Macdonald pick and the smith pick were picks to fill needs. Someone is going to respond with I don't know the flames draft order...maybe smith was next but it obvious to me at least that those two picks were meant to fill organizational holes.

I'm not convinced either of those picks were made based on "need". I think they legitimately liked Smith and think he had big upside to be a massive power forward. He was definitely a project pick and it's hard to judge that one yet. As for McDonald we were entering the range in the 2nd round where goalies typically start to go quite heavily. There hadn't been a goalie taken yet. I find it quite easy to believe that both McDonald and Demko were right up next on their list. In fact after the draft it was revealed they had someone higher on their list (who obviously wasn't a goalie) that got selected near the beginning of that 2nd round. Doesn't seem like they forced a goalie at all that year, I think they just had the goalies that high.

Just doing some search on players from the Central scouting International skaters list and Mathias From http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=220307 looks like a decent 3rd round pick. There's some poop quality youtube video of him playing and he's got some nice moves. Attacks the net a lot.
Another player worth looking at would be Eetu Tuulola http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=123542.

That Mike McLeod isolation video was sure underwhelming. Were those his best shifts from that game?
He was always involved in the play, but certainly didn't control the play.

I don't know, to me I still think that Chychrun is head and shoulders above Juloevi and any other defender. I actually have him at 4 but that is probably just me because I like him so much.
Juloevi is good and will be a good top 10 pick but IMO I still give Chychrun the edge.

The draft is going to get pretty interesting at pick #4 if not before then. Wish we knew the dang draft order already!

First post so go gentle please
So here is my scenario;
Calgary finishes 3rd from bottom and wins the lottery only for Bettman to announce the expansion of the NHL and award QUebec and Las Vegas 1&2
Las Vegas then greasing some wheels picking first and getting Auston ?

I will boldly say that this has 0% chance of happening.

I think there's about the same chance of that happening as there is of Bettman coming up and saying that the oilers won the lottery again but the league decided the oilers should get 30th and everyone else moves down one spot. Actually I think there's a better chance of that happening then expansion right now.

But seriously what would stop an expansion this season ?
I heard some rumblings about Q not getting in but isn't Las Vegas arena finished this spring ?
If so nothing f would stop the expansion team messing up potentially Calgarys highest draft ever ?
