Cheering for Brazil today would have been more fun than cheering for the Jays.

A constant lack of focus is partially on him, and partially on the players. What is his job if he's not responsible for getting the players ready to play every day?

Was stupid base running errors a problem when Farrell was a manager?

yeah cause the players aren't scared of him. No accountability.
A baseball manager does more work off the field then on the field. Once the game starts it's just fundamentals.

The play is in front of Reyes, he's not a rookie, where's he going? And he goes back to the dugout and will just laugh it off. He'll be a goofball tomorrow in batting practice and he'll bat leadoff again.

Also that play was too close to overturn, why isn't Gibbons arguing? It's a 5 game losing streak, he NEEDS to get into a good argument and get ejected to show that he even cares.

Farrell didn't manage here (especially the 2nd year). He was just stealing money.

My biggest complaint with Gibbons is how blasé he can be. I want to see just a little fire for him.

Do I blame the whole situation on him? No, but I do think he needs to start being harder on his players and demand perfection.

I completely agree with you, although he did get tossed the other day for arguing. I think it's too late for that to make a difference, he's lost the players interest/respect already.

Hockey season can't come soon enough (and it's just July )

CFL games are too infrequent to distract me.

Okay, Gibbons sounds far too satisfied with their performance.

Much better effort tonight and definitely could be up by more the 4 runs. Dickey looked solid. Hopefully the Blue Jays can hold on.

Not been a lot of fun to watch the Jays lately, to be sure, but after all of this, they are currently 2.5 games out of the lead in the division despite dealing with a ton of injuries at the moment (and I'm not just talking about EE and Lawrie). There is still a ton of the season left, and I am still grateful that the team is playing meaningful baseball at this time of year. Could I have done without this slump? Absolutely, but it's still fun to watch games that matter rather than 'because I like baseball and my team is the Jays'.

Lind is now out 6 to 8 weeks with a broken foot. Essentially, 4-5-6 of the order gone for a substantial period. It's difficult to see how the Blue Jays can stay in the race, even being 2.5 games out of first.
