If he's lynched, I'll be voting Aeneas on Day 6; and if he's lynched, undercoverbrother on Day 7, unless significant new evidence arises, or unless I'm dead. If undercoverbrother turns out to be mafia, I'll be voting Wood on day 8. I'm saying this to provide obvious breadcrumbs that others can follow up on if I am killed, but which will also hopefully make the mafia hesitate about killing me tonight. Seems like transparency is going to be the best policy.
I feel 100% confident that something is strange with Halifax Drunk, based on his bizarre roleclaim. Most likely he's mafia. There's a slight chance he's the assassin.
Although my gut is that he was telling the truth that he's a backup, just not a backup for a player, a backup for another mafia (following the axiom that the best way to lie is to tell something mostly true), and based on the fact that he doesn't seem especially knowledgeable of some of the roles in the game, but seems to know backup pretty well. If this is the case, I'm curious about whether the cardflip will reveal that they are a backup, the ability they are backing up, and whether the ability has been activated. If, for example, he is a mafia backup watcher, then we know that there's another mafia watcher out there. If he's a backup mafia roleblocker, then he was probably backing up drake. There's also the possibility that he's a backup janitor, that's scary to me; I could be mafia-killed during the night, and then he could janitor-clean my identity, y'all would believe I was mafia or assassin (as Wood has been suggesting), and be totally thrown off the trail. There's also the possibility that he could do this if he was a universal backup (although those sound rare for mafia to have).
HD being mafia would also lend further credence to dsavillain's theory of the day 1 voting block targeting Blaster; which, if he's revisiting, he can notice how quickly undercoverbrother and wood both jumped on after I made the suggestion about voting for one of the two vote leaders (blaster and street pharmacist), and which can be seen as further attempts to move the vote away from the low-posting names that were being suggested (Drake, Timbo, regulator). I was dismissive of dsavillain's theory at first (because he included me in it, as well as the posthumously exonerated Street Pharmacist), but it still could be very accurate (and it's possible that the reason dsavillain hadn't been killed while street pharmacist was, was to crush the theory and avoid breadcrumbs leading back to HD, which would be the same strategy as crushing Blaster's theory by leaving him alive and killing legoman.
For this reason, if I'm wrong about one of the names I mentioned, it would be consistent with the mafia's strategy to kill that person to attempt to undermine the whole theory.
I've got no idea about the assassin, even in terms of ruling other players out. It's possible that some people have a weak ability they've revealed, plus a strong secret ability. It's possible that people are lying about their abilities to avoid being targeted. My gut is that the assassin will be somewhere in the middle, posting enough to avoid beein singled out for a low post count, but not actually contributing enough to risk being targeted by mafia. It's possible that there is no independent serial-killer type assassin, simply a hitman killer who can act as an additional kill (which would explain no mafia players killed by the assassin so far).

I would have personally wanted to go with stazzy first seeing as his suspiciousness lines up with our previous mafia members, but having HD something I don't disagree with.

After feeling pretty down on themselves for the rough patch they had been through, the group sat down and thought through their predicament, using their skills of deduction to narrow down the suspects. They jumped through a few targets, analyzing each one carefully, eventually deciding on HalifaxDrunk.
"But guys, the backup! I waited all this time to be able to help you! Please don't do this!!" he cried as they placed him in one of the dark corners of the room.
Once again they were unsure of what they would do to finish things off today. "Maybe we should rip a leg off the table" suggested one of the players. "Maybe we should just strangle him" suggested another. No one really wanted to do the deed themselves again however, so they argued for some time on the best course of action.
When one of the players looked back absently at HalifaxDrunk, they noticed something in the shadows. On closer inspection, something had some out of the wall, a mechanical arm of some sort. It had grabbed him by neck and held him against the wall tight, crushing his throat. "I guess someone out there decided to take our suggestion..." one of the group noted solemnly.
They also noted the face of Toews looked awfully distorted in the dark, but it turned out a mask was stretched by the arm and behind it, they found the face of the Deputy Commissioner himself.
HalifaxDrunk: Bill Daly, NHL / Jack of All Trades / Lynched Day 5
Finally, something went the players way! They must be getting close to eradicating the NHL from this strange place, right? They all hoped they would survive the next night to find out.
It is now Night 5. You may not post in the thread during this time.
If you have night actions, they must be PM'd to me by Monday, March 31st at 10:00 PM Mountain Time. Please title the PM "Night 5 Action". If everyone submits their night actions before the deadline, I will open the thread as soon as I process all actions.

Another night, another day. The dim lights returned, the room seemingly unchanged from before. There was one thing everyone noted, however. The strange feeling that you were being watched, but couldn't see anything when you looked. Some swore they saw small openings in the wall, but when they did a double take there was nothing there.
It was on one of those double takes that the first body was found. They swore it wasn't along the wall earlier. It looked like he had a smile on his face when he was stabbed in the chest. It was a clean, quiet kill.
dsavillian: Alex Ovechkin, Players / Post Restriction Writer / Killed Night 5
Later they discovered the other body on the ceiling of all places, tied to the structrual beam exposed behind him. The face has slashes all over it, but they could make out who it was.
Blaster86: Henrik Zetterberg, Players / Mason / Killed Night 5
Times were getting desperate. What could be done to stem the losses? Would the NHL up the ante?
Suddenly, the floor started to smoke, and burning red words rose along the floor near the wall.
WHAT WILL IT BE NOW? MAKE YOUR MOVE.
It is now Day 6. With 9 alive, it takes 5 votes to lynch. It takes 3 votes to deadline lynch.

So I got a message at night from someone in the game, and if what was said is true we have an easy target for this week
Problem is I don't know of it's from a player or mafia, and it can't be confirmed by mazrim
If whoever sent me the message can come out and say it was them, it could really help the players

Wow another two Players.
Wood, is there any downside to sharing it? Maybe we should share it and just discuss the message?
I thought people couldn't send messages?

I didn't send a message, I did track Octoassassin though. Was interesting.
My last day here, if Octothorp gets his way. That will be another 3 player death situation which will bring the numbers to 6. One assassin, 1-2 ? mafia, 3-4 players. That will be exciting.

It has to be that persons ability. I got it from mazrim, telling me it's a message from another person in the game. It can't be confirmed if it's true though. I'm hoping whoever it was will say if it was them before I tell everyone

I guess I might as well put it out there
The message said that stazzys ability of hot/cold streaks is not true
Personally I think it's from mafia trying to throw someone under the bus, what does everyone else think?

I'm thinking it must be from a mafia member. But if someone comes out and says it was them and we trust that their a player, that helps us a lot
I don't see why that would be an ability though. That would mean this person was able to track Stazzy, why would they need to message me at night though? Why couldn't they just come into the thread and tell us what they found out?
To me or seems like if has to be a mafia members night ability, to send an anonymous message to hopefully trick someone. If that is what's happening here then all it's really done is made me less suspicious of Stazzy
I need to go sleep haha
