2-1 Utica after 40. They'll need another big 3rd period.

Yea, but it sounded like they were creating lots of scoring chances, so they'll have a chance to bring this one back. I don't think we are looking at the final score.

Yea especially with the success they've had in the 3rd period this season. 4-4-0-0 when trailing after 2 periods.

Granlund hit Ben Street with the puck and hit slaps it home for a PP goal. Tied at 3.

edit: yuk. Comets win in OT despite being outshot all weekend.. Worst team in the league sweeps the best team of the league.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you can outshoot a team 73-44 in two games and be outscored 5-7.

They were 3/9 on the PP which isn't shabby. Utica was only 1/6 on the PP, so taking penalties doesn't seem to be an issue.

ferland has been awesome lately it seems. is he really physical player to go along with his fighting? could he be up with the flames next season? ive always hoped he could be a good 2nd/3rd line powerforward, right now it seems thats a definite possibility.

I have always had high hopes and a 'good feeling' (sorry) about Ferland that he could become a solid physical forward on a scoring line.

Loving the way he is playing right now but I don't want to see the Flames call him up too early.

What's going on in Abby right now is awesome - the team is winning and learning to trust each other while developing the prospects in a positive atmosphere. I really hope they leave the kids there to develop properly.

I definitely agree with this sentiment, but it is also a nice carrot to dangle and to show meritocracy to give deserving kids a few games in the NHL.

When the inevitable trades happen on some of the vets, some players will definitely be called up for a more or less permanent position on the Flames this season - and I would assume to be sent back to the AHL for a hopefully long playoff push there.

I do love what is happening in the AHL right now - every facet of it actually with predominantly the youth and future of the Flames pushing the team, how some of them are developing, the atmosphere - everything. I myself am not wanting to trade veterans on the Flames right away just for this reason - to keep it all going on the Heat as it is.

Good on Street. He was decent while up with Calgary this year and kept it going when sent back down.
