Antoine Winfield retired yesterday after being cut by the Seahawks. Too bad, I was hoping he would re-sign with the Vikings, he definitely could still play in the league.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora 29s
Tim Tebow cleared waivers. Could very well be the end for him in the NFL

Minnesota picks up J'marcus Webb.

You would think with the way Jared Allen manhandled him twice a year they would know better.

Webb will be used as a backup/swing tackle, he may be a turnstile but he's better than Troy Kropog.

Guess there is always a possibility he lands on the PR in a week or ends up in Jacksonville with Jedd Fisch again.

Another name that might not be recognizable is Bryan Hall who also got released. They might have ruined his football career as they changed him from DT to LB in the off-season, and he lost a ton of weight to do it.
Streeter is now on the Bills' practice squad.

Carolina is the oldest team on offense in the NFL, Seattle the youngest.

On defense the oldest is Washington, the youngest Cleveland.

Overall the youngest team is St Louis, and the oldest (bizarre as it seems) the Lions.

Odd as they got rid of a lot of their older players this off season.

I imagine if you broke it down by starter the Lions wouldn't be close to the oldest as looking over their roster a lot of the older guys are back-ups or special teamers.

Good situation actually. Experienced depth.

Lawrence Tynes is pretty pleased with the Bucs these days and how well the training facility is sanitized. Placed on the non football injury list from a staph infection suffered at the facility. Carl Nicks is also out due to the same thing, and Joe Juerevicios sued the team over this in 2008.

Jurevicious (and LeCharles Bentley) sued the Browns over staph infections. The Browns had it bad for a few years.

The Packers have signed Seneca Wallace to be their backup QB.

Good call Syl.

Wallace has joined GB and will be at practice this morning.

Colts signed Da'Rick Rogers to their practice squad. Low risk signing but highly unlikely this kid turns into anything

I assume that will be the backup for the season. He wasn't on the 49ers long enough to learn the playbook.

Packers also picked up Scott Tolzien off waivers from the 49ers - he will have a pretty good handle on the 49er playbook since he was the 3rd QB for the past 2 season. But will they keep him around after the first week?

He always looked great in preseason mop-up time but could never break onto the roster and got beat by an undrafted QB this year.

Veteran guy who's familiar with the West Coast offence that won't need a lot of reps. No team that I can think of will win the Superbowl if their starting QB is out come playoff time. But if you have to go 2-4 games without your starter during the season you need a guy who can at least give you a chance to win a game or two and keep you in the playoffs.

Good question and i believe they will. They released BJ Coleman this morning when they signed Wallace, so they still need a 3rd QB on the practice roster.

I don't get that pick. How is this Pats team anywhere near as good, let alone better than, the team that crapped out early last year? Am I missing something?
