Correction. Third world footballing nations + The Germans who have demonstrated that they don't even know the rules let alone how to interpret them.

you should watch the replays. on bayern's first goal dante jumps up with his arms over dani alves' shoulders, preventing dani from being able to jump and defend the ball, should have been a foul. mario gomez was offside, clearly ahead of pique on that play. and the muller pick doesn't even need to be explained. The only goal that should have counted for bayern was their last one. Bayern deserved to win that game, but not by that score.

As for Barca, I wouldn't say their dominance is coming to an end just yet. But they were well beaten there. They can't control corners either.
Funny, I hope you're not an EPL fan complaining about a Bundesliga team "buying players"

We get it! You're not happy with the result, so you're blaming the officiating.

Actually, you don't get it.

I could care less about the result. I'm fed up with the subpar refereeing.

But, it appears that no-one wants to talk about the refereeing unless it feeds their anti Liverpool conspiracy theory. My point is simple. Bayern were well worth their win but their is indisputable evidence that the referee once again had an influence on the final scoreline.

Do you (a) admit that the Gomez goal was offside (b) Muller blatantly interfered and to a lesser extent (c) Dante was clmabering over Pique?

Debate the point at hand that the refereeing was substandard and spare the childish didn't like the result sad excuse of an argument. I could simply retort that you, PIMking, Locke and every other Liverpool fan that has jumped onto the "gotta find another team bandwagon" are happy with the result but don't want to talk about the refereeing. Quite amazing really considering you folks have beenconsistently the biggest referee whiner on this board.

Congrats on finding a new team.

The Dante play was fine and happens on almost all corner kicks.

That is very weak if Barca fans are actually whining about that.

Gomez goal was fine for me.

And obviously Mueller blocked Alba but that is fine since it went against barca for once.

I finally saw the highlights of the Lewandowski show. No way was the second goal offside, Not by a long shot.

If the German giants face off at Wembley, all will be right in the world, with Dortmund winning.

So malicious of Bayern to be leaking the Lewandoski, and Goetze transfers now.

I agree actually.

I'm really disappointed by this turn of events. I'd like to know the reasoning behind why those two want to leave Dortmund. Surely the money must be similar and Dortmund can go toe-to-toe with Bayern any day, why switch?

Either way, I'm sure Dortmund will do what Dortmund do and replace them from their academy and move along without skipping a beat.

Getting some tidbits from the Europa - Chelsea/Basel match.

Does Chelsea play a 4-2-3-1?
I ask, as I'm surprised Mata is on the bench. Rafa must be worried about the top 4 placing, and having him healthy for the prem.

Yes, they do play a 4-2-3-1.

I'm sure Rafa has planned out his squads for the next two weeks just so they are perfectly ready for the Spurs game on May 8th. That's a HUGE game.

The Alba play was a block but I have no issue not calling it due to the ridiculous embellishment by Alba.

Need to get embellishment out of the game and letting the play go in a situation like that (clear foul but also obviously embellished) might help to work towards that goal.

Raphael Honingstein said it wasn't Bayern

some idiot at Dortmund told the wrong person and it made it's way to Bild

Also no the salaries aren't close

on Football Weekly they were talking about just that, Lewa makes 25k a week at Dortmund, Dortmund's wage budget would be 7th in England behind Dubai City, Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Dortmund

so the hand balls should be ignored?

2 goals that shouldn't have counted, and 2 handballs in the box by Barcelona. Pretty well a wash. That doesn't forgive the missed calls, but it's hardly the travesty that you make it out to be.

Because this thread has EVERYTHING to do with Liverpool. I hate that I had to type this, but I did. It's almost as if you have a grudge of some sort against the team, or their fans on this board. You brought this up in this thread, not any Liverpool fan.

Yes. This happens often, as mentioned. Even with your golden boy Mr. Webb. He is not perfect you know. Far from it in fact. However, it is worth pointing out that you don't get so pissed off about the officiating if it benefits your own team. Surely if officiating was so important to you, you would feel free to bring it up then as well. Think Dallas Stars fans for example, and the Brett Hull crease fiasco. I would hate to be in that situation as a fan of a team. It's almost as if you shamelessly pass it off when your team wins for the same reason...

I'll give you A and B, but in turn you have to concede the Barcelona hand balls in the box as well. You admit C is to a lesser extent. I don't think it was worthy of whistling.

As I said earlier, you don't get nearly as worked up when your own team benefits. I, on the other hand, fully admit that when the refereeing benefits my team I get considerably less worked up (but were it something very major in a pivotal game, I would say differently, because it would in some way cheapen or sully the win). Whereas you're claiming some sort of moral superiority on the topic of officiating, while at the end of the day, you're exactly the same as all of us; a passionate football fan. Most of us are just more honest about our bias.
