3 tower project proposed for the Stampede Pontiac site on 9th avenue, downtown west end. Apparently this project has been moving ahead through the city quite quickly, and the developer plans to go ahead pretty much on spec:
The tallest building is 150m, so it will make quite the visual impact especially from the north-south views of the skyline (for comparison the tallest in that area is Nexen at 152m), stretching the core further west.

Quick heads up as well - it seems like work has started right next to the Kahanoff site. This is the new Decidedly Jazz Danceworks Studio project that is being incorporated into a high-rise office tower. Dialog (meh) has their sign up there.

Does that pretty much negate any West end hockey arena now?

I think it is the same group behind Aura I and II in Beltline. Cidex I believe.

I think this is a different site than what they're calling "West Village".

Nope, the west village is still west of this. You can see the Mewata armoury just on the left hand side of the model.

This is the Metro Ford site. Which means I can no longer take my car there soon.

Isn't Metro Ford on the other side of 9th?

Has anyone at SSP put this into a future renderings picture yet? I'd love to see it. I want to see one with this, Telus Sky and Brookfield. We're gonna look so awesome by 2018 (assuming that's when all of this is complete).

Hmm. Nevermind then. There's another project planned for that location.

Not yet, as this is the first look any of us have had of it. Hope to see renderings soon.

Sorry, was confusing Pontiac dealership with Dodge/Chrysler tucked in the corner there.
That 9th ave corridor is going to change significantly in the coming years.

This is a great step to developing the west end. I think one of the most interesting and lucrative areas in the inner city for holding properties right now is Sunalta. As the West End develops and expands the community of Sunalta should see a dramatic resurgence and re-development. If the west end arena development happens it will be an even more significant catalyst for Sunalta.
I've been wanting to investing some money into Sunalta properties for the last couple of years but unfortunately I'm young and don't have a huge pool of money for investments right now.
