Preds not gambling on their roster hoping to squeak into rd 1 with a subpar team.
I’d say it was a good move for them.
Wish the flames would do something like that but we won’t.

The Flames are in a much better position. They are on pace for 92 points, the Preds are only on pace for 91 points. The Wild are on pace for 97 points and the 2nd wildcard spot.

Get what ever you can for some of those 4th line guys and force Sutter to play a few kids.

The problem with that idea is the "whatever you can" get is likely a complete lack of interest from any other team, or maybe "we'll take that guy if you take this worse guy back in return".

My friend came back from Europe last weekend and he was on a flight with a former NHLer who was also a scout... he couldn't remember the name... that made me skeptical. He talked with the scout was told that Calgary is interested in bringing back Talbot for the end of the season.

Three headed goalie monster again? I love it and definitely want it to happen immediately

Talbot is certainly better this year than either of our lads.
…if Ottawa would take Marky in exchange, being free of the risk attached to that contract wouldn’t be a bad thing in my eyes.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Was always surprised that Treliving pined for Talbot for so long and quit on him as fast as he did. Wouldn't shock me if Talbot came back, but really I can't see it.

Talbot would be an interesting acquisition. Not sure what to think. He is an adequate goaltender this year but remember the meltdown against Dallas in the bubble?

I would laugh so hard if they brought back Talbot. Not because he isn't good — he is — but they already swapped Markstrom and Talbot three years ago and now they have Wolf in the minors.
Would be just bananas. Highly doubt it happens.

I'd rather give Wolf a chance than bring in another goalie

Perhaps his plan is not to run 3 goalies.

My memory might be hazy but didn't Brian Elliot have a meltdown against the Ducks? Talbot a meltdown against Dallas. Markstrom a meltdown against the Oil. Are all goalies that come in here mentally weak or do the Flames have really poor goalie coaching staff not capable of settling them down and pointing out where the mistakes are being made? Seems like too many meltdowns over the years to be just a coincidence.
