The hope would be that they are so dead set on following the Vegas model… sell absolutely anything and everything for the purpose of getting better now. Vegas traded Suzuki (their first ever pick), Tatar and A 2nd round pick to Montreal for Pacioretty. I know that’s very rare for any team and Vegas has always done things differently than any other team in the NHL. I think really the only way I could see it happening is if Iginla has a less than stellar D+1 year.

Alright, I guess we can add Hanley. But that’s a steep price to pay

Utah likely is a candidate for a big trade. They are loaded with picks prospects and cap space. Add an ownership group that, fro everything we’ve seen and heard so far, appears to want to put an awesome product on the ice, I have no doubt they have their eyes on making the playoffs first year out of the gate.

All that said, I don’t see them moving Iginla. Not only was he their first ever draft pick, but if he’s like his dad (which I’d bet he is) he will be as good on the ice as he is off of it.

I think Anderson could be a good fit there. Perhaps the Flames can get a first and two seconds or a first and a prospect. It appears the Flames are targeting prospects as part of the return on their players based on last years trades.

Not really a rumour but speculation and wishful thinking that Dallas will offer up Mavrik Bourque in a trade for Rasmus this year. Just an article with some interesting chatter anyways.

I could potentially see them parting with Bourque, as he isn't a blue chip prospect like Stankoven. But a very good one that might flourish in Calgary with more premium ice time.

I don' think he's untouchable by any means for a player like Andersson.

But it might well depend on how well he plays this year. Id he catches fire playing with old line mate Stankoven, he might well become untouchable.

I think Bourque is over-rated around here.

He remains well behind Zary (same draft), and his AHL stats are only marginally better than Pelletier's, primarily due to playing with Stankoven.

If Bourque is the player coming back for Andersson' they better throw in a 1st as well.

Overrated or not, team just don’t trade their top prospects very often

Peak CP right there. Trade proposal that has zero chance of happening where we get a 6th overall pick that was the talk of the draft, followed by "yeah, no Flames shouldn't do that, not good enough".

I tend to think he's overrated as well, although ranking systems always have him quite high. Not sure exactly why I feel that way.

He led the AHL in scoring last year.

He played 58 regular-season games in one of those years where he was the playoff backup. He was exposed in an expansion draft immediately after winning the Stanley Cup, merely because they couldn't keep both him and Matt Murray without gutting the team.

Obvious attempt at spin is obvious.

If Sam Bennett makes it to UFA next summer do you think the Flames would throw a pile of money and years at him to have him come back and center Huberdeau?

I could see Treliving looking to bring Bennett in as well and Benny probably would love to play in Toronto.

Can he get 7x7?

I can't see him being a glame again, but that's my 2 cents.
