1st, Rucizka, Phillips, 2nd that turns into a first if Stone re-signs.

I do that deal 10 times out of 10.

I would be so happy with Stone and Panarin both staying in the east. Would definitely make it easier for the flames to keep out of the expensive trade market.

I think they’d just expect better prospects. Flames return for stone most likely
1st, conditional 1st, Dube, Kylington. Stay away Tre, stay away.

They don’t want our low level prospects.

Dube, B level prospect (Petterson, Phillips, etc), 1st, and a conditional first if he re-signs for 26 year old Mark Stone?

Arguably top 5 RW in the league. Over a point per game. Good team player. Excellent defensively. 6'4" 200+ lbs.

You do that deal every single day. Especially when you are in second place overall. Players like Mark Stone just don't become available. When they do, you take that swing.

Flames have a legit shot this year at the cup. And with Stone on the roster potentially for several more seasons, the chances of us going deep/all the way are really good.

Just say no to moving any of Kylington/Andersson/Valimaki.

IF we make a big splash we're going to have to move Brodie or Hamonic at the draft to recover a 1st rounder + and we will need these guys in our lineup next year.

Move forward prospects or even depth roster players + picks for a big fish. But again, no to moving our young D.

Stone will fetch a better return than Duchene. Idk how you guys expect all these proposals to work

It’ll be something like
1st and conditional 1st
Dube=Abramov
Kylington>Davidsson because Stone>Duchene

It’s hefty. It’s not something we should do

They seemed fine to take Columbus' lower level prospects for Duchene.

Dube and Valimaki are both far superior prospects to Abramov and Davidsson. I'm sure there are some prospects in our system that they like. Maybe Petterson or someone. Even if we have to include one of Dube, Kylington, or Valimaki I don't think it's terrible value.

At least this gets movement going with the domino falling, as Sens I think are now ready to finize the other two.
It'd be great if BT gets the coveted player in next day or(whoever that is, and may not be that big) and then has the time to go browsing in the inevitable bargain bin on Monday, without much pressure to add anything from that.

I agree, now that Ottawa got a couple of prospects in the deal they will be a bit less preoccupied with grabbing more prospects in another deal.

Pushes calgary's ability to make a deal with picks up a notch or two.

Columbus prospects going to Ottawa in Duchene trade...
  • Abramov: 20 years-old (21 in May), drafted 65th overall in 2016. First year in AHL. 22 points in 52 AHL games (7th on team among forwards).

  • Davidsson: 21 years-old (22 in March), drafted 170th overall in 2017 (third year of eligibility). 20 points in 35 games in Sweden (SHL).

Similar calibre players in the Flames organization would likely be guys like Phillips, Foo, Gawdin, or Tuulola.

Gawdin, Tuulola, 2019 1st and conditional 2020 1st would be a very similar return to what the Sens got for Duchene.

Columbus first is much more valuable then our first though. They aren't even in a playoff spot right now.\

Also Dube first year in AHL = 1.0 PPG

Abramov first year in the AHL = 0.42 PPG

Both 20 years old.

You are right. How else are we going to draft Klimchuk, Poirier, Nemisz with our late first round picks?

By low level prospects I was referring to your proposal of offering them Philips and Ruzicka.
