He also knows that every other democratic leader thinks he's the dumbest, most reprehensible assclown on earth. Trump isn't comfortable unless he's surrounded by sycophantic minions constantly kissing his ass, and he knew he wouldn't be getting any of that at the G7. Dude was probably looking for an easy excuse to leave early and avoid having to converse with normal intelligent adults. He basically just wanted to show up for the photo op and the free dinner.
The photo op being: the plug for Russia to rejoin.
Total traitor.

I sometimes wonder how self-aware he is, I don't think he truly understands he's viewed as a complete clown. If he did, he wouldn't go into the same tired rants, repeat himself over and over again. The meandering way he speaks is deranged, part of that is being 79 years old and in the middle of cognitive decline.
Trump's been around for a while and say what you want about him, there was a time where he was pretty quick witted, articulate, and composed. It's very evident that his mental capacity has declined sharply over the decades to the point where he probably depends on his handlers to tell him what's going on a lot of the time. I just don't think there's enough going on upstairs in his head to realize how much of a joke he's become.

It's honestly probably as basic as that. Unless he's surrounded by MAGA loving Fox news watching people who slurp up his verbal diarrhea, POTUS or not, he is way out of his element around educated minds that see directly through his bull#### and are actively working to distance and ween themselves off American influence. I know I have personally been to a few gatherings which I was out of my league and felt like I wanted to get out as soon as possible. Trump knows they are doing this, other leaders know he knows. At this stage it's just playing nice with him and buying time until the shift is fully underway. I'm glad Carney saw the writing on the wall months ago and is doing what he is doing.
I for one am glad he ####ed off. Time for the adults to discuss real world issues and try to find real world solutions. Nobody needs a literal russian asset in the middle of it listening in. Can't believe I actually have to type that. Imagine some kind of russian asset in the middle of a meeting like this a decades ago in the peak of the cold war. A meeting in which literally every single person in the room knows exactly who you work for and which side you are on. Disgusting Americans elected this dip#### once again.

It was my first thought as well. I don't think he can stand not being the center of attention. Teamwork has never been his strength. I think he even tried to push buttons to try and make the focus on him and got discouraged when no one would bite.

With Trump leading the US into yet another war, some of his supporters are surprisingly turning on him including senators like MTG and others who continue to repeat that the US should no longer be fighting anymore wars. Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out for the Republicans and MAGA.

Literally nothing will change. They'll say they support whatever it is that's it, that's how it plays out

In the five months Trump has held office in his second term, the number of impeachable offenses legal scholars estimate that he has already committed range from three to eight or more.
This is not to say Trump will be impeached. The current Republican-controlled House is far too subservient to even consider it.
President Trump, Gerhardt added, has committed more impeachable offenses in the first few months of his second term than all previous presidents combined.
They include lying to the American people on numerous matters and violating the Fifth Amendment’s guarantee of due process for both citizens and noncitizens, the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech, the Emoluments Clause, numerous abuses of power including the pardon power, complicity in eroding public health protections, and violating federal laws governing civil service and many other matters.
Democrats are slightly favored to retake control of the House in 2026. If they do, they would have the votes to impeach Trump, and it is quite possible that they will do just that.
Winning a Senate conviction of Trump on House-approved impeachment charges, which requires 67 senators, would be a much tougher hill to climb, possible only if Trump suffers debilitating political setbacks over the next three years.
A failure to achieve a Senate conviction does not, however, guarantee that Trump gets off the hook. A number of the impeachable offenses cited above would justify criminal inquiries, especially Trump’s cryptocurrency profiteering.

Just read that when Trump was speaking with reporters on Air Force One before he left Alberta, he upped the price of Canada participating in his Golden Dome crap to $71 billion (up from 61 billion the last time it was mentioned). Once again, he’s obviously just throwing out whatever random number that pops into his Swiss cheese brain. He also mentioned it would be free if Canada became a state, lol. Dude is such an asshat. I’ll bet he didn’t have the balls to say that in front of Carney during their private meeting.
It should be noted that the only reason he talked about the 51st state thing is because the dumbass reporter asked him about it. If they hadn’t brought it up, I bet he wouldn’t have even mentioned it. This is what pisses me off about the media right now, particularly Canadian journalists. By constantly asking Trump about this nonsense, they’re keeping it in the news cycle, whether that’s their intention or not.
The whole thing is just so incredibly stupid and I wish Canadian media would just shut the f*** up about it and stop feeding the bulls*** machine. I don’t think I’ve heard U.S. journalists talk about it in months, and Trump himself has barely mentioned it lately. Seems like it’s only Canadian journalists who are constantly bringing it up.

We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
A post by trump this afternoon...totally normal totally fine
Hey did Sliver ever build that bunker?

To add to my earlier reply see the exact thing happening in real time:
Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) — Tulsi Gabbard left no doubt when she testified to Congress about Iran’s nuclear program earlier this year.
The country was not building a nuclear weapon, the national intelligence director told lawmakers, and its supreme leader had not reauthorized the dormant program even though it had enriched uranium to higher levels.
But President Donald Trump dismissed the assessment of U.S. spy agencies during an overnight flight back to Washington as he cut short his trip to the Group of Seven summit to focus on the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran.
“I don’t care what she said,” Trump told reporters. In his view, Iran was “very close” to having a nuclear bomb.
And then
Quote:
Gabbard brushed off the inconsistency, blaming the media for misconstruing her earlier testimony and asserting that “President Trump was saying the same thing that I said.”
“We are on the same page,” she told CNN. Asked for comment, Gabbard’s office referred to those remarks.
In her March testimony to lawmakers, Gabbard said the intelligence community “continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamenei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.”
This will never be challenged or brought up in any meaningful manner again
He got away with it all last time...the Justice Department being run by a useless academic, the lower courts dragging their feet and the Supreme Court finally giving it the stamp of approval let it happen last time. Sadly I wouldn't hold my breath for this round.
