Because none of the prospects out played him for the 4th line center spot.
Conroy is on record saying he wasn’t handing out spots to you youngsters. If they wanted the spot they had to beat the veteran for it.

I hate to do this because I think Bourque is going to be a player but where would he play ?

He isn't exactly suited for a 4th line role and the flames have been experimenting with Pospisil all preseason.

Would love to grab him, just have trouble penciling him into the line up at the moment in a place where he could succeed with his skill set.

Agreed but there is also a very good possibility that one of Zary or Pospisil don’t cut it at center. I think our main problems is too many wingers and no true young centers.
Anyway I was just dreaming don’t think they do that but since I’m dreaming unloading Kadri and picking up a guy like him would be awesome for team tank.

Why do they need cap bs if they are going to trade for Bourque, who has an exceptionally high cap hit, compared to Bourque.

Plus he is waiver exempt, just send him down if they wanted to.
