I downloaded IOS4 with my 3GS and it said that Skype isn't compatible with IOS4, but like someone mentioned in a thread, you can disregard that message use it.
However, yesterday while using Skype it said that I had until August to continue using Skype, at which point I would have to register/sign-up. I assume that means pay a fee. Does anyone know more about this? Thanks

AFAIK it is only for using Skype over 3g instead of wifi only. The last update enabled Skype to be used over the 3g network and that feature is free until August. Skype to Skype calling over wifi will remain free.

That is really awesome but how accurate is it? The internal accelerometer wouldn't be able to determine your speed so you are left to the mercy of hoping your GPS data is fast enough or accurate.

I've used one before just for fun and it was surprisingly accurate. Not horrible, not great but it did surprise me.

I'll have to try that sometime. Did you have a stand? Maybe I will just tape the iphone to the dashboard!

WunderRadio has been updated with support for playing in the background.
Edit: Works awesomely! Finally, background radio.

So does Opera Mini actually save a considerable amount of data or is it just marketing hype.

I wish more apps would jump on this bandwagon. I've been patiently waiting for the CBC radio app to do the same.
It's a pretty nice app too, btw. CBC radio 3 is awesome.

Does anyone know of an app (iPad preferably) that will hold a record or keep track of all my books? With owning books, ebooks in different apps and books lent to me, it would be nice to have something that complies them all together in something better looking than a word document.

Maybe Tap Forms (from a local YYC developer)?
But it's pretty expensive. It's a database application.

Check out Bento.
Edit: Actually, I take that back. It's cheap, but it doesn't have a way of getting your records off the iPad, other than syncing with Bento for Mac. No thanks.
Edit: This might be what you're looking for...

iBookshelf
iBookshelf is your personal portable library reference. A comprehensive book database, created and continuously maintained through extensive feedback from readers like you.
Books are displayed ordered by title, author, genre, and status. You can search for books in your library, and enter a "loan status" to remember who you loaned the book to or borrowed it from. A new book can be entered automatically (enter ISBN and remaining data is loaded from the internet) or manually. If you load the data from the internet, the book cover image is loaded as well. It will even tell you where you can buy the book and how much it costs!
__________________________________________________ _______
Features:
* Enter the ISBN and tap load to retrieve book data from the internet (live barcode scanning with Red Laser SDK)
* Enter the title and/or author and tap load (next to the title field) to look up the ISBN and load
* remaining data from the internet
* Save all your books in a convenient library
* See your book covers on your iPod/iPhone
* Track book loans
* Rate your books
* Find places to buy books and the price at each vendor
* Search the database by multiple space-separated keywords
* Tilt your iPod to landscape view and view your book covers in "shelf view" mode.
* Backup and restore your library to our online backup server
* View your backed up booklist at ipod.pressnells.net
* Email backup files (CSV or binary) to a location of your choice.
* Import your own data (CSV format) or backup files.
* Not sure what to read? While in cover view, shake iPod and a random book will be chosen for you.
* Read/Unread status is displayed in the main lists.
* While editing an entry, tap on the cover image to search the internet for additional cover image options.
* Set the cover image using the iPod camera (if available)
* Optionally enable data pulled from ISBNDB.com (requires setup of free account) in the iPod Settings app.
* Set default values and list font size in iPod settings app.

Whatever you do, do not buy Bento on the iPad. It is absolute junk. I was furious that I wasted the money hoping against hope that it was better than, or at least on par, with desktop Bento.
Bento is bad all the way around. I migrated all my data out of Bento for the desktop into RTF text files and/or Numbers spreadsheets, and believe it or not, that was, while not an improvement, almost zero loss of functionality.
I hate Bento.
Edit: You wanna know how bad Bento is on the iPad? How about a text field that can only display 3 lines of text on that glorious iPad screen, no matter how much text is actually in there! No way to resize it. 3 FREAKING LINES

CloudReaders and Stanza both support .cbr files, though CloudReaders may be iPad only, I'm not sure.

Yeah I was so bummed. I had built a nice little guitar tab database on the desktop Bento that had the usual fields (song title, artist, album, etc), plus a combo box to choose the tuning, an embedded audio track, and finally a big text field to hold the tab itself.
Imagine my utter horror when I plunk down $5 for iPad Bento and discover that while you CAN design layouts on the iPad, all text fields can only be 3 lines high. I couldn’t even view one full bar of tablature, needing 6 lines for that. I was so pissed off I didn’t bother hanging on to the app and waiting for updates.
Not that you want to wait for updates for Bento anyways - they charge for their yearly updates on the desktop side, adding precious little to the product other than to correct bugs like the one that caused records with links to old appointments to permanently disappear without warning. Fixing that bug only took about 6 months, and only after they spent 3 of those months claiming it couldn’t be fixed. Oh, and maybe a design gallery so you can download pretty looking versions of DB’s that have data loss bugs.
Just a garbage app all around.

That's crap, man. There are very few things in the tech world that irk me more than lousy software. Some of the stuff people create... I can only wonder what the hell everything else they do looks like.
Hmmm I bet there's a bit of coin to be made with a high-quality DB app for the iPad...
