Oh the rapping walmart manager. He even pops a non-existent collar. It is unacceptable to me that people (very well payed people at that) sit in a board room and come up with stuff like that. It seems strange to me that annoyance is sometimes seen as a legitimate marketing tactic.
I find it amusing that Spence is still beating their "you may hate our ads, but you'll love our store" drum. I guess they really do believe that annoying advertising = good for business.
Their advertising budget seems to be about 10,000x that of any other jeweler. They have 30 second or 1 minute ads on almost every radio station. Him and his gold digger sidekick blathering on with that stupid "I'm reading a book to a three year old" voice.
Oh please...people talk about boycotting all the time and then when a company comes out with a product you want or the price you want, you still going to "stand your ground"...uh huh...
It's a commercial. It is common practice for commercials to be annoying in some way so you will "remember" them. It is a known way to market a product and it works. For every person who types in this thread and swears up and down they will never buy x product again, 20 other people remember the commercial when they are thinking about buying x product and go there first. It's a fact of life and a fact of advertising and marketing.
Of course, saying I do this 100% of the time is extreme. But yeah, I definitly go out of my way to not use products where they annoy the hell out of me with their ad.
edit: I should have added what 4x4 wrote, to my rant. "when given a choice".
I believe they are for Honda, but the ones where it goes "The dealer said it has this and that and the other awesome feature, all he had to say was it was a Honda" Really, that is what you base the vehicle you are going to spend tens of thousands on, the brand name. Let me guess you also have an iPhone.

All Auto Value commercials are on the top of my list.
Seinfeld isn't funny. You impersonating Ron Burgundy isn't funny. Back to the Future was thirty years ago, and I've been to Universal Studios the Delorean isn't that impressive.
Staaaaaaay Classy Alberta!
Go chew rocks Auto Value, I would rather go to Canadian Tire. At least their ads aren't as annoying as listening to teenage girls talking on public transit.
