If he wants out bad enough, he can just restructure the contract like everyone does.

The names and faces change but year after year it's the same crap. Sucks being a fan of this team. That said most Raiders fans wanted Adams traded in the offseason so this is welcome news. I just wish the head coach wasn't such a moron.

Adams is 31 and will cost 35M to keep next season....nobody wants him on that deal beyond this year, including the Raiders

He’s still one of the best receivers in the game. Larry Fitzgerald was still very good later into his career.

They will restructure the deal.

That is the point...in hockey terms he is a UFA. Nobody is paying him that deal next year he will be "cut" and re-sign wherever he likes. Adams has ZERO value to the Raiders beyond this season, in fact it would be negative value to keep him. Can't expect a huge return.

Now the coach should probably stay off social media (probably good advice for anyone)

Schefyer says Adams top choice is Jets or Saints since he wants to play with Rodgers or Carr.

How are the Saints going to fit in his contract? Even if they wait until the deadline to make the deal he's still going to be owed $8 million.

It's the NFL. The cap can be easily manipulated.

I get the trade request from the Raiders, but that fixation on playing with Rodgers or Carr is all kinds of hilarious to me.

In the offseason yes but it's not as easy during the season.

The playbook here is request trade...provide teams who really can't make the trade work. Force current team to release and sign where you want to play.

They aren't releasing him mid-season, $40 million dead cap versus $15 million in the offseason makes that straightforward. But his cap hit being huge the next two years means anyone trading for him likely wants to redo his deal. Feels like Washington makes the most sense, by far. Tons of cap space this year and beyond, window coming open unexpectedly, non-conference team to trade to.

Apple doesn't fall far from the tree I suppose. Chiefs sure know how to pick em.

Totally, and the Saints under Khai Harley have been masters at it. They've taken a different approach this past off-season (finally) though, and are trying to dig themselves out of all these contracts they pushed down the road from their contending years.

I'd be fairly surprised if Adams actually ends up in NOLA, I think he'll end up elsewhere.

A running back trying to slow Vita Vea with a head of steam. That's never going to work.

Two primetime games in a row with lots of offense and good QB play? Is the NFL back?

Oh dear. What a drop by Mooney. That would've been a walk in TD.

Brutal drop by Mooney and Koo gets blocked. Sounds like some Falcons.
