Not the prettiest of games, but a big 3 points, on the road, vs. a top team.

We are now above Ottawa in the table. Imagine saying that 6 weeks ago.

Their location and venue is awful. I don't think judgement can be passed until they move.

As for the game, super cool for Aird to be able to score in front of his mom tonight. He's having a great season, I'm so glad he decided to stay.

I don't disagree with that. The CPL in Commonwealth would be similar.
However, those World Cup qualifiers vs. Costa Rica & Mexico had an amazing atmosphere, and with new FIFA approved turf going into McMahon (yes, the stadium sucks but the sightlines are far superior to Commonwealth), I am optimistic that we may have the opportunity to host a friendly or two in Calgary leading up to the 2026 World Cup, as well as the Cavs in February 2025.

I'm sold that Commonwealth can be the right venue when there's a decent matchup. The 2015 Canada/China women's game was packed to the brim, as was the 2022 WC Qualifying matches.
I even went to the Cardiff City/Valladolid game in 2020 and that drew a good sized crowd (looked like everyone with an ounce of Welsh blood made it out for that one).

Edmonton shows up for the big events and Commonwealth is a great stadium when those events are held (Women's World Cup, World Cup Qualifiers). Edmonton does not show up for club soccer and they have a long history of not doing so. A great example is 48000 showing up for Canada / Costa Rica (which was an amazing atmosphere) and then 500 showing up for Edmonton / Forge the next day (most of which were supporters in town for the game from the night before).
IMO, the CPL in Edmonton is a pipe dream for the next number of years. I think it can return at some point but every single detail around a new club would have to be different. Any new owner would have to drop considerably more money in Edmonton than they would elsewhere in the country to bring people back after the disaster that was FC Edmonton.

I’m not sure I’ve ever see a professional goalkeeper be so poor at reading the flight of a ball. It’s pretty alarming

Elephant & Castle is open in the old Rose & Crown building. Looks like they're going pretty hard after the soccer crowd. Going to show CPL and NSL as well.

Has anybody ever made a pick up order from the Cavalry website?
I made an order and got an email that it's ready for pick up - but there are no details on shop hours or times for pick up anywhere.
I've sent a couple emails to the shop support and have received no answer back on if there are hours during the day or if it's just on game day for pick up.

5 wins in a row. 5000+ in the stands. Top 3 celebration in the supporters end when that Klomp goal went in. Great day

Klomp is back playing at the level he was at last year. Best player in the league
Our wings were poor, Wähling was not involved and Musse tried to do way too much on his own. Hopefully Henry’s injury is not as bad as it looked. He was pretty distraught
The stands looked absolutely packed on tv. Great job Calgary!

Great atmosphere. #80, Lowell Wright, was disgracefully out of shape though. The referee must have run about ten times more than he did.

Sat in the balustrade today; brought my staff, many attending their first Cavs game - perfect day to do it too! 1-0 win in the final minutes, beautiful day, cold beer, record attendance. Never seen the stands AND the surround areas that packed. A great day to be down at ATCO Field.

Great result, although I'm a little worried about our attack if Warschevski and Henry are out long term. Henry's demeanour didn't look like a guy pulled for precautionary reasons.
I took my 5 year old to the front row of the main stand at the end of the game, and Charlie Trafford, unprompted, gave my kid and I a high 5 while he was there to greet his friends/family. I told him how much that would mean to my kid, and he proceeded to give him a huge hug which absolutely made his day. That's what it's all about.

Henry’s injury could have big knock on effects as they chase the title and navigate the U21 minute threshold. Could be some weird lineups if they need to make up minutes
