I wonder how many times some smart ass watching him play has said "that kid has 'franchise' written all over him"?
If I ever see him play live, I know I'll be saying that.

The first time I saw that name I said that exactly. And I think one of the sportsnet highlight guys made a joke about his name a little while ago. I bet he is sick of hearing that joke.

It's currently 2-0 Comets over the Heat with about 5 to go in the 2nd period. Heat badly outshooting the Comets 21-12 but can't get one to go in.
2 Fights in the game. Elson vs Mallet and Ferland vs Huskins

Bad puck luck for the Heat tonight. Double the shots but down by 2

Down 3-0 now.
If it wasn't for bad luck, they would have no luck.

Ferland has been on a tear this past month. Fighting and scoring. Love it.

Ferland is a monster! Wouldn't it be something if he pans out to be like a lucic. He's a special player indeed.

That was 34 year old, 6'4" 210lb, 300+ NHL games under his belt, Kent Huskins that Ferland dummied. Haha

Ferland was great last night. Fast, tenacious, being a pest. Obviously he used his fists and scored as well.
Love the way this kid takes advantage of the opportunities when they're given to him.

While I like seeing Ferland kicking ass, I'm wondering when MacDermid is going to start roughing people up.

While I don't know much about MacDermid, from some of what I have heard he may already have been mischaracterized by some fans. He doesn't sound like a heavyweight goon through and through but maybe more like a Jackman or Bouma type player. A grinder/role/energy player. But hey, I'm no expert on him, never seen him myself.

He's not a goon by any means, but he'll drop the gloves (i.e., Bouma, Jackman). He didn't look good last game, albeit he played on the most physical line (Bancks, Olson, MacDermid). He was least physical though. Looked kind of lost at times.

Ferland's gonna get a late season call-up if he stays consistent.

1-1 after one. Elson from Billins and Hanowksi opened the scoring.
