It's a very good draft year, especially if you're in the top 10.

Our remaining schedule:
Apr 15 - vs Minnesota
Apr 17 - vs Detroit
Apr 19 - vs Anaheim
Apr 21 - @ Minnesota
Apr 23 - @ Nashville
Apr 25 - @ St. Louis
Apr 26 - @ Chicago
I figure we'll win 1 of the games against Minnesota, and maybe the Nashville game for a 2-5 record to end the season.
According to sportsclubstats.com, our likely finishing rank will be:
If we go 2-5:
27th) 14%
28th) 53%
29th) 29%
If we go 3-4:
26th) 24%
27th) 41%
28th) 26%
If we go 4-3:
24th) 22%
25th) 34%
26th) 25%

The Flames will find a way to finish the year 5-2. Now that losing has never been better for this team they will go out and play better then they have all year. Just because the hockey gods love to torture the Flames fans.

As much as I'd love to have MacKinnon/Jones/Drouin, as a Flames fan I wouldn't consider a team being driven to a 5-2 finish by a bunch of 23 year old or younger players a form of torture in any, way, shape or form.

Normally I would agree but at the same time I am willing to place my pride firmly in the back seat for 2 weeks to get this team a badly needed top 5, or even better a top 3 pick. Why not wish for something we have never had the luxury of having? I'm at the games regardless, a part of me wanted the Yotes to win on Friday but I still stand up and cheer every time we score. The season is lost, and as bad as this sounds I would welcome a 2-5 record and a top 3 pick. Like you said a bunch of 23 years looked alright last night. Lets add a 18 year future star to that mix.
BRING IT ON!!!

Flames are only 3 pts back of the Oilers.
They will pass them by the end of the season.

I can just see it, the flames will finsh with the 6-7 pick, and to add insult to injury, the Oilers will win the lottery.

If the Blues are playing the Canucks in the first round, who does a flames fan cheer for?

Blues. Losing in the first or the second round makes no difference. Play on the safe side and hope the Canucks get out right away, let the Ducks or Hawks deal with the Blues in round 2.

Screw that i cheer for Vancouver. The blues have a good team and its not out of the question that they could reach the finals. If the nucks win the first round i have no doubt that they lose in the 2nd round.
The flames need the best pick possible from Pitt and St.Louis. I hope for 1st round exits for both teams.

I'd give up the pick completely than see the Canucks hoist the cup. If the Blues knocking out the Canucks cost them a spot or two, big whoop. Anything that keeps the Canucks from winning.

And still pick 7 or 8 (barring lottery results).

It will be tough to cheer for the nucks though, much prefer a ST.Lu-chi/ana matchup.

Blues, a first round exit again for the Canucks and they'll begin to panic and start messing heavily with their roster and trading 1st round picks for aging vets.

They don't have room to add aging vets. They don't even have room to sign a full roster during summer. They will have to give away Luongo for able to sign some players.
I hate the Canucks and wish nothing but the worst for them so I will be cheering for the Blues no doubt.

I'd rather pick 30th and the Nucks don't win the Cup than pick 15th and they win the Cup
I can't see any Flames fans ever cheering for the Nucks in that situation.
