It's a messenger bag. Previously used and designed for storage of messages (ie: Mail) easy to quickly thumb through the contents of the bag. A type of workingman accessory. It's not an attaché case or anything upscale or fancy like that. It's perhaps on par with something like a pauper's cap. You don't wear it to be cool, you wear it because it fits with what you're usually doing.

You got me. I sorta just felt like it was as if someone was bringing up the topic of an old diesel tractor and slagging on those when the topic started on electric trucks.

Unlike fanny packs, messenger bags weren't revived in a fashion trend like manner. They're just a type of utility accessory that exists.

Fanny pack basically translates to something that is used to contain items (in close proximity/condensed manner for storage) on/around your ass.

Purse at least means to a bag used to carry every day items.

After having 9 years of a phenomenal neighbor, who passed away in the spring, the new neighbors moved in this week, after taking possession about 5 weeks ago. They're barmpots. They're ancient though, so we may not have to put up with them for long. RGMG that they're so lousy after such a great neighbor.
