Why are they linked to all these people but not linked to recalling their .930 goaltender?

lol. Could break Wolf as well. Season on the line and sky high expectations. The hype for him is starting to get a little too crazy. If the Flames fall out of the playoffs completely then we will see him play outside of injury

The messenger for at least 50% of these rumored players is Pagnotta. Haven't heard the more credible insiders link them to anything. Friedman and Seravalli have mostly repeated that Brad is standing pat and being careful.

The hype is normal, look at his accolades.
1 time CHL goalie of the year.
2 time WHL goalie of the year
AHL goalie of the year in his rookie year.

This team allows the 2nd fewest shots in the league.
If Wolf can’t stand up behind that, he’s not the guy, and better to find out now.
Price had been in the league two years by the time he was Wolf’s age.

Week until TDL. I don't see the Flames selling but depending on the next three games Treliving probably could add a minor piece.

With no decent UFAs to sell I feel like we won't see much happen. They won't tear it down until they see what this team looks like with half-arsed decent goaltending which I tend to agree with.

Yes, but expecting him to step in and take over the starter's net is where it is getting a bit much.
Can't quote GreenLantern but find out if he is the guy by tossing him in the end of a struggling season. He sucks and he is out?

Already mentioned, but this team allows the second fewest shots in the league. You want to break Wolf? Leave in the AHL while the NHL goalies ahead of him are the worst tandem in the league, give him ZERO NHL opportunity.

I don't think "expecting" is the right word. What's the harm in seeing if he's ready to make the step from AHL to NHL? If he's not, he goes back across the Dome and spends more time in the AHL, and has a taste of what to expect in the NHL. If he is, the team takes a massive step forward as league average goaltending would have had this team fighting for the division lead.

You give him a few games and see how he does.
We have nothing to lose, if he flops you send him back down to dominate. If he excels, you look at trading a Goalie this summer.
You will never know what you have if you dont give him a shot.
He deserves a call up as much as anyone in the entire organization, all he has done is play excellent hockey.

Or ride out this season and start fresh the next one where the pressure is off. Goalies are voodoo, I don't think he is gets in while the Flames are fighting for a playoff spot. If the Flames are out of the playoff race in 10 games I bet he gets a start.

Wow are we comparing Wolf to Price already?
We need to reign in our expectations on Wolf. This is not the time or season to call up Wolf and place enormous pressure on him. We are not the Oilers. No need to be known as a franchise that destroys their prospects.

Why give him a start when they are playing for nothing? Wolf gives this team as good of a chance of winning as either of the other two goalies. They have nothing to lose by starting him and everything to gain. I'd rather them see what Wolf can do for them vs trading for a Talbot.
The thing is, goaltending has been their weakest link all season, and they have the best AHL goalie right under their noses, doesn't even get a sniff. The solution is not Markstrom, not Vladar (as we hoped) so what does Tre do?
- Nothing and hope for Markstrom "comes around" (hope is not a strategy)
-Call Up Wolf
-Trade for Talbot or Quick or ???? Quick would be an interesting pick up. Age seems to be catching up with him but he was great in the playoffs last year vs EDM.

Dustin Wolf is nearly 22 years old. Let's not act as if this is an 18 year old kid fresh out of Junior.
He's been a dominant goaltender at every level he's played at.
Expecting a .900SV% + from his is not placing enormous pressure on him. That is literally all it would take for him to be an upgrade on what we have.

Mangiapane-Backlund-Coleman
Dube-Lindholm-Toffoli
Pelletier-Ruzicka-Huberdeau
Lucic-Kadri-Duehr
Hanifin-Andersson
Weegar-Tanev
Gilbert-Zadorov
Wolf
Markstrom
Trade Vladar, Lewis, Ritchie for whatever at the deadline. Try to get your third back for Vladar at least. Lewis and Ritchie for conditional 7ths if that’s what it takes. Lucic is immovable but if anyone is interested in him at 50% for a conditional 7th do that too, call up Zohorna if he does get moved.
Try to trade Zohorna if you can’t move Lucic.
Re-sign Ritchie in the summer, he’s been passable this year. Good enough to be the 14th forward.
Paper transaction Pelletier, Duehr, Wolf so they’re still eligible for AHL playoffs.
If we insist on running even minutes for all 4 lines, try to make all 4 lines not garbage.

Just tell Wolf "Hey our other 2 goalies are struggling right now, we want to give them a mental break for about a week. We are going to call you up for 2 or 3 games and then send you back down regardless of how it goes. No pressure, you don't have to be a savior".
I don't see the harm in that and it will at least give you an idea if he is capable of stepping in and playing at an NHL level. It can't really get any worse at this point.
