There’s always Cooley or Vladar on waivers.

lol so the Bruins offered 62 but 64 was never discussed. Would that 2 million over 8 years make a difference.

I would be pretty annoyed if I was offered 62 million and then the Bruins held a press conference saying I declined 64 million. If I wasnt happy with the organization to start this would not sit well with me as I would absolutely feel cheated.
Easy way to destroy a relationship is to lie about the situation. Why lie publicly (if that's true) though, as clearly it would be caught. Very strange situation.

Got some insight tonight and don't be surprised if some of the guys who seemed to have earned spots in camp that are not waiver eligible are sent down to start the season. Might see players like Coronato, even Wolf sent down initially to accomodate trades. There are some trades out there and players like Vladar, Pelletier for lower round picks that are better than losing them for nothing on waivers that Flames will protect those players to facilitate moves with aim to bring good training camp showings back up in short order.

I wonder if there is a trade to be made with Montreal involving Kuzmenko with Laine going down? The Flames pretty much have to make room for Honzek at this point.

We really don’t need to sell low on Kuzmenko right now. Honzek can go down and get minutes.

I don't like the message that sends though to a young player that is playing that well.

Regarding Swayman and Ullmark: I believe both will regress a fair bit away from the Bruins. Nobody is going to give Sway the payoff he expects.

Trading Coleman a possibility? His value should be as high as it ever will, good contract and by all accounts a tremendous person. Is he someone we could trade for opening up some roster spaces?
Love the guy, but he's not in the long term plans. Too many bodies at this point.

It’s not negative. He needs minutes he has missed a lot of hockey.
The message is clear. Go down to the AHL play lots and dominate. We will get rid of these guys and make room for you.

The message is: you had a great pre-season, now go and work on your game, because you're going to be a full time NHLer very soon.
As opposed to the message you would be sending to Kuzmenko: I know it was just the pre-season, and you were just trying to get into game shaped and not get hurt, but this 19 year old had a good camp, so we're going to trade you.

They are going to trade him anyhow. I don't see any way they extend Kuzy.

Interesting, hopefully these trades come to fruition and we aren’t left “holding the bag” with some NHL ready talent left in the minors.

You try to move him now, while every team has a full roster, you get nothing for him.
You wait until the deadline, and he is a very attractive asset.
There is no hurry in getting Honzek to the NHL, he is 19.
Every year - EVERY year - there are multiple young players that look great in pre-season, only to discover that the regular season is a different beast entirely, and they are in fact, not ready. Case in point: Coronato last year.

Honzek told Parekh he was humbled in his first camp. He needs to play a full season with lots of minutes so his mind and body can adjust to playing lots. He lost a lot of development time.
Coronato hit a wall. He came from not playing much.
It’s for their own benefit. Plus it allows us time to get Kuzmenkos value up.
