TSN panel saying Stone, Duchene and Dzingel being held out of lineup for next game. Lebrun linking Stone to CGY - 4 asset ask but CGY would want him for more than rental.

Insider trading:
there has been dialog beween sens and Stone and Dzingel
no contract yet
Duchene, Stone, and Dzingel expected to sit out
can't officially say door is closed on Sens re-signing Stone and Dzingel
it needs to be a long term play for the Flames to get in Stone.
Sens asking for 4 assets
They need a contract extension or know they have a good shot to re-sign him
5 teams in on Duchene
serious contenders at the moment: Nashville, Islanders, Columbus
might be serious: Buffalo, San Jose
lot of prep work by the Canucks on Edler
Benning had a conversation about extending Edler today
as interest picks up Benning will take list of teams to Edler to consider waiving his NTC
Bruins would like to another forward but not an urgent need with Coyle
Hayes, Zuccarello on Boston's radar.
Panthers have asked for Hoffman 10 team No trade list, which is due on friday
LeBurn thinks Hoffman's list will include most of the contenders because he doesn't want to leave Florida.
Not for sure Panthers will trade Hoffman but they want to be ready if an opportunity presents itself

The only hang up I can see is Frolik has a 10 team no trade. Pretty good odds that the Sens are on it

If you have a plan to retain Stone you pull the trigger on that every day and twice on Sunday

Is it if he's signed long term though?

If he re-signs, it's a different story. We're not at that point yet.

I keep saying, Lebrun I trust a lot.
As for Stone, did anyone else notice last night during the Flames game when they were talking about Stone... Burke said something like he will stay with the Sens... then Friedman looked at Burke and said something along the lines of "then Calgary won't get a shot" ---> Then they both got silent. Just found it odd that Burke doesn't work for Calgary anymore and no further comment was made about that.

Good call.
If we acquire Stone and plan on signing him we surely have to trade Frolik in the summer, but there's enough reason to suggest we could find a team for him given his agent's activity earlier.
But yeah, no reason for him to waive for Ottawa.

I would not include Anderssen, Kylington or Valamaki in any trades, Stone signed long term or not.
Those 3 are going to be the pillars of our D in the future, along with Hanifin.
I'd trade Sam Bennet before I traded any of those 3.

I can't see it why he would not. Grew up in Manitoba as a Flames/Leafs fan. Brother plays here. Team is set to compete for years. If the money is available he will sign here.

We probably lose one in the expansion draft though.

If extendable, Stone would solidify a top-tier top 6 for several years to come. Would have to shed some salary.
I do wonder if they lose Stone AND Duchene AND Dzingal whether you might be able to convince them to take Neal for no other reason so that they could get to salary floor next year.
1st 2019
Kylington
Jankowski
Parsons
Neal (maybe $1m retained)
Stone
Then Frolik traded in off season to clear more cap.
For Playoffs
Gaudreau-Monahan-Bennett
Tkachuk-Lindholm-Stone
Frolik-Backlund-Czarnik
Mangiapane-Ryan-Hathaway
Gio-Andersson
Hanifin-Hamonic
Valimaki-Brodie
Rittich
Smith
Ridiculous.
