This phone continues to amaze me. Just did a speed comparison with a friend who has an HTC HD2...The race was from homescreen, getting to CNN.com and opening the first article under most read. I beat him by about 15 seconds. It was over 3G. Boom. Fastest smartphone ever released. Anyone that cares to argue it is doing so on the basis that Apple is 'too popular, and therefore I hate them'.

Quick question for you all. In my calendars it shows my dads birthday as incorrect. I have no idea where it is stored to edit it. It wont let me in the calendar itself

Not specifically iPhone 4 related, for those of you struggling with speed issues with iOS4 on the iPhone 3G, here is some relief:
http://lifehacker.com/5600825/how-ca...n-my-iphone-3g
To summarize, Apple is looking into the speed issues, and disabling (or limiting) the Spotlight Search function makes the phone usable again. I tried all sorts of restores, resets, etc. and limiting Spotlight Search to just contacts and email has really sped things up.

It might be setup to just sync your calendar info from Outlook or whatever you're using on your desktop/laptop.
Edit: Never mind, I misread your post. I think Jimmy Stang (below) has it correct.

Should be in his contact info. There's a birthday field in there that the calendar pulls the info from.

Nobody took advantage of Telus offering 5GB of data for free on any clear choice contract that was 3 years?

Thanks, I went ahead and changed virtually of the things they suggest to do. We'll see how it works. It's worth a try until I can find an iPhone 4.
Speaking of that, anyone get one on day #2?

There are plenty of comparisons on the net with Android phones running 2.2 (Froyo) and the Iphone4. The vast majority have Froyo out a head in side by side competitions.
In fact, there's one comparing an HTC Legend running 2.1 to the Iphone4 and the Legend is still faster.
In the end, Androids new offerings easily compare to the Iphone4. Yet the Iphone4 is no doubt a great phone.
I picked up a Legend and its blazing fast... but I don't make a thread about extolling it's virtures... must be an Apple thing... we get it already, Apple is the greatest thing ever.

Android, Apple...I don't really care. Point is that Google, Apple, HTC, Motorola, RIM, and everyone else involved in the smartphone business are competing to stay ahead of the game, if not on TOP of the game, and the end result is a complete, total win for the customer.
And I love it.

Even more amazing is that somehow Canada now has decent data plans from *all* major cell providers. Before that, data == screwed in almost any fashion.

Right. Like that was going to be enough. I called Retentions, and they gave me the iPad sharing addon for free and added another 100 minutes to my Retention plan.

Thanks dude. I just called Bell Retentions and I got a plan that was near as damn-it to this one.

Absolutely. Hopefully Windows gets itself back into the game too. MS I should say.
