Sink to the bottom? A cancer is gone, the D line has been significantly upgraded, the same QB as last year will be starting and has another year under his belt and the team has players that want to be here.

Forget sinking to the bottom, the plan is working fine. I should probably put that Iraqi guy picture here, but yeah. Everything is fine.

IMO, this kind of confirms a lot of the rumours speculating that the Eagles players were backing Kolb as the starter. That being said, Jackson needs to keep his mouth shut.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5175025

Quote:
DeSean Jackson is the latest receiver to belittle McNabb's contributions to the Philadelphia Eagles, telling The Sporting News he was "very happy with the decision" by the Eagles to trade McNabb to the Washington Redskins last month.

Jackson also said: "I don't think we lost anything, even with McNabb being gone."

Good luck with that DeSean, you ungrateful little punk.McNabb may be the most under appreciated player in NFL history. The guy is well on his way to Canton. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/player...?playerId=1753

Yeah, I think it was out of line for him to come out and say something like that publicly.

Wow, talk about classless. The McNabb/Jackson connection was spectacular last season; why would DeSean go out and disparage McNabb's worth?

Jackson finishes 4th in the NFC with over 1100 yds....and the goof throws the guy under the bus that delivered those to him?

Apparently Jackson's quotes were taking way out of context. I want to see the whole interview.

This is odd.

For the first time since the award was first given out in 1967, The Associated Press has decided to have its voters decide again which player should be named the 2009 NFL defensive rookie of the year.

Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing won the award but recently was suspended for the first four games of the 2010 season after violating the league's steroid policy. His positive test reportedly happened in September.

Cushing is eligible to win the award again. Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd finished second in the original voting (six votes), followed by Packers linebacker Clay Matthews (three) and Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo (two).

I really like the NFL's way of handeling these situations and their "no bs" policies with pretty strict suspensions, fines, awards taken away, etc.

Suspending guys like Ricky Williams, Pacman Jones, Stallworth, etc. for being idiots off the field is the way to go.

I am not a big fan of suspending people for Marijuana use. It doesn't help you play any better, and if he had never tested positive for it by the league no one would have ever known so it wouldn't have made him a bad role model.

I bet he doesn't. Adam Schein who is one of the voters hosts a show on NFL radio and he's a real drama queen about this. He was feeling cheated for voting for a guy who should have been suspended early in the season thinking Cushing was clean. The media love to make a big deal out of steroid use because it's a story for them.

There are no first, second, and third place votes for this award. There are 50 people who vote for it. I bet that one of Jarius Byrd or Brian Orakpo takes it this time and I'd be surprised if Cushing even gets 5 votes. The media will punish him harder than anyone.

Maybe... I still think he will still win it.

I was watching the NFL network last night and Lombardi was asked about it and he mentioned that he already talked to something like 5 of the voters and they said they will still vote for Cushing.

Not that I disagree as these idiots have no place in pro sports, but does it seem to help? Every year there is another moron who has done something stupid. You would think that young players would eventually get the message, but the strict fines/suspensions don't seem to deter them.

Cushing retains AP defensive ROY award....but his votes went from 39 to 18...holy hannah the splits elsewhere must of been all over the place.

Edit: Here is the breakdown.

Quote:
That revote gave Cushing 18 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league. Buffalo safety Jairus Byrd received 13 votes, and Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews III got 10. Washington linebacker Brian Orakpo earned three votes, and St. Louis linebacker James Laurinaitis got one.
Three voters were not available to cast ballots, and two voters abstained.

This Saints thing will be serious stuff if it turns out to be true. Oy vay.

Quote:
In his first lengthy interview since filing a federal lawsuit against the team, former Saints security director Geoffrey Santini told USA Today that he only decided to resign and later sue the team after general manager Mickey Loomis tried to convince him to help cover up the theft of Vicodin from the team's headquarters.

"I was witnessing crimes, and I wasn't going to stand for that," Santini told the newspaper. "I did everything I could to save the people that were involved, but it just didn't go that way. Mickey didn't let it."
Quote:
I begged Mickey Loomis. I said 'Now's the opportunity to tell him everything. We can get this out on the table so at least the owner is fully aware. He owns the team. He's the boss. And if we get him fully knowledgeable, then we're safe.' But Mickey didn't want to do that," Santini told the newspaper.

I figured he would (take that Syl!). He was the most dominating defensive rookie this year, nobody was even close to him in my opinion, sure Byrd had a lot of INTs but he lacked in other categories.
