On the other hand, if you have wiggle room (like CGY), you can simply bump the roster up to 23 during periods where there are some minor injuries, or flu, or slumps, or whatever.
EDM may try to run with 21 out of necessity - which would have consequences.
The Flames may run with 21 during periods where they can get away with it, so they can build more cap space for the deadline. But wouldn't face those consequences because they could go back to 22 or 23 at any time

Flames also have the advantage of having their farm team in the same city so call ups are and send downs are a lot easier to manage
Edmonton has to deal with Bakersfield which is also NG

Nonsense. The Oilers also have their farm team in the same city. In fact, their farm team plays in the same games.
It's called ‘the bottom six’.

I also tried rational thoughts and it got me this:
Who would you rather have on the ice: either of the glitter twins or some unknown league minimum player? I tried to explain that double shifting all season wasn’t a strategy, but I realized that I was expending too much energy.

Why not something like this: "Hockey Canada is a despicable organization that has hid these events from the public and even has a emergency fund for such events. They need a complete overhaul. I will not represent Hockey Canada until there are changes made so hockey is inclusive for everyone again. I am proud to be Canadian but not proud to be apart of Hockey Canada at the moment."

Have you never seen Connor McDavid before? The guy has the personality of a moai, probably thinks milk is spicy and is as insightful as a stop sign.
This is as good as it gets. Easily the blandest top tier star of any sport.

This is a guy who's rally cry is "Let's go". His response is exactly as I would expect from a person that's somewhat robotic and cold. It's just who he is.

FYP. They can't manage their money well enough to have the luxury of a bottom 6.

Even Makar's statement isn't pointed enough, but it's lightyears better than McDavid's.

yes, exactly. This is the kind of thing he should be saying, put pressure on these guys from within and from the elite in our sport.
Makar is such a treat, what a guy.

Not sure how McDavid can be so bad at communicating. He has had media attention, agents, coaches and resources from what, 14 or 15 years old? It is just painful to watch/hear.

There's a possibility, and hear me out on this, that he's just not very smart.

Well, yes, there's that. But I also think the combination of the utterly soul-crushing experience if being drafted by [*SHUDDER*] Edmonton, and the entitlement that came with being an Oilers star player likely contributed immensely to McRobot's absent personality. You can still find media footage from his juniour days; he was a completely different person back then.
