I would hope he starts to change his philosophy as the approach of attempting to win based defense first isn't going to work in today's NHL. It only makes matters worse when the assembled defensive group underachieves and you have to rely on a neglected forward group to win games hence this miserable season.

IMO they were full marks for their defeats of the Kings, Sharks, and Jets. Better team in all three series. I don't think the Knights wins or losses in these playoffs have anything to do with puck luck and more that the Capitals are simply a better team that is on top of their game in this series.

I think Vegas has just come up against a Juggernaught in the Caps.

They are the much better team and it is showing.

So with the Caps potentially being able to finish this on the 7th, I would think that it would have be one of the earliest days the cup has been awarded in a long time. Even had a week off to boot.

Also, if the Caps close it out early that means buyouts can begin 48 hours after that. Just saying.

Still seems way too late. This should have been done and dusted as a possible game 7 by this past weekend imo.

I still feel like the Jets were diminished quite substantially by the Nashville series and this lead to a much easier series for the Knights..... Another casualty of this Jekyll and Hyde playoff format as we get to enjoy a great match-up in round #2 but it takes a lot out of the winner and provides a much easier road to the finals for their opponent.

I think the format is ridiculous but some people like it including the NHL so we have to accept that we will not often get the best possible matchup in the SCF. As for the Jets you can argue the Capitals should be diminished substantially by the Lightning series meeting a rested Knights team. The fact is that the Jets are not much different than the Knights in that they rely on high level goaltending and did not receive it in that series.

The Jets, the 2nd highest scoring team in the league, rely on high level goaltending?

Of course not. They are the best thing to happen to NHL in decades with 0 flaws

Despite of your blind faith in your team, yes, without goaltending they were out of playoffs just the year before. And yes, good goaltending affects offense too, by means of giving the team a boost and confidence. Both get sucked out with poor tending.

I didn't suggest they're the best thing to happen in decades that's your dumb strawman. I just find it totally dishonest to say the Jets rely on high level goaltending. They rely on it no more than anyone else in the NHL. It's a bad take full stop.

There is no need to call him a 'dumb strawman'.

When they had good tending they were a good team.

When the tending was not good (last year) they were not a good team.

See the trend there?

Brilliant analysis. Say no more .... I'm convinced. The Jets are a lousy team propped up by good goaltending. CP=home of the hot take.

Wonder Woman seemed to have been rocking the red (wine) for a while prior to that interview.

I am not trying to convince you. And I did not call the Jets lousy.

But Helly had a great season and it was a huge part of the team's success. That's clear looking at the team's win % with him in net versus your backup. No?

Just to add, Vegas played 4 goalies and all except Legacy had a winning record.
