So close! All in! Almost got him!

Anyone else tired of hearing these headlines every trade deadline?

There's no reasonable explanation for why Hutchison's numbers are good at home but so terrible on the road. It just doesn't make any sense.

Mmmhmm...and there it is again. Hutch getting burned on the road. This is ridiculous. Actually, beyond ridiculous.

His road vs home numbers have got to normalize you'd think, otherwise no other way to explain it except for too much good luck at home and too much bad luck on the road. Gotta say it again, but the fact that these Hutch splits haven't normalized yet is also ridiculous.

So glad AA has waited so long to upgrade the pitching. Hopefully he can hold off until the bitter end.

What an incredibly frustrating season.

Damn. Reyes drives in Pillar with a double, but Donaldson can't follow it up.

Cole Hammels just no hit the Cubs (amazing last out BTW make sure you see it).

AA needs to get a guy like him and pronto...otherwise its just more of the same thing that isn't good enough for anything.

That last catch was crazy.........thought for sure it was going to drop.

Even if the Jays get Hammels it might be too late. I think they need at least one arm coming in. If AA could have swung something before the season or a couple months ago the Jays would probably be in good shape.

Jim Joyce better be shrinking that strike zone for the Jays hitters too. Some of those calls against Sanchez were infuriating after what he was giving Happ earlier when he was walking everyone and had no idea where the ball was going.

That final out of the no no was just absurd. If he had dropped it - wonder if they would have called it a hit or an error. Incredible play none the less. That's why you have to love this game - stuff like that.

Strike zone seems a little homerific today. Russell is pissed.

Hutchinson is so erratic this season. I wonder if including him in talks for a big time pitcher would significantly bring down the cost in terms of prospects. Turning Hutch into Shark would be an upgrade. I wouldn't mind seeing Boyd up to take Doubront's spot and see where that takes us, as well. In an emergency situation, Wolf has also been his slow velocity, yet consistent self at AAA. I'd like to see another option instead of emptying the farm.

Sanchez with the win. Osuna with the save. Future of the Jays.

Interesting little tidbit stolen from Simmons column this morning..

Quote:
When Buehrle has started for the Jays this season, the club has played .632 baseball — a 102-win pace. When anyone else has started, they have played .468 ball, a 76-win pace

Round trip flights to Seattle for $250 if one plans ahead... I'm going to have to head out there next year, I think.
