In addition to that, Gibby's philosophy is in direct conflict with small ball and fundamental baseball. Its nice to swat homers but running the bases aggressively, moving runners over, bunting, hit and runs, and using the entire field to hit is an important part of winning games.

Gibby seems to get the pass from media and many fans when he asks his players to do this stuff once in a blue moon and they can't execute. I think it's mostly on Gibby. You can't have your players playing dumb-hack swing-for-the-fences baseball 99% of the time then expect them to be any good at the fundamentals when your game-plan is to never play fundamental baseball.

The Jays are just not hard to play against, either their bats are on and they win with homers or they are off and they lose. They don't grind out games and they don't manufacture runs and that is on Gibby.

God this team is struggling. Scattered hits here and there the past few games, but can't string anything together.

What is it about the Jays in July and August? They never seem to play well in the middle of summer. They will likely pick things up in September but it will probably be too late.

The pitching for the most part has held up okay thru the month too, which is frustrating. The offence has just died off. Usually it's the pitching that disappears, but guys like Stroman, Hutchison, Haap have held up the same as they were thru the first couple months of the season, and Stroman has started to show signs of being quite capable.

I agree, the pitching isn't the problem anymore... Our bats aren't working right.

Lineup for tonight

J Reyes#SS
M Kawasaki#2B
M Cabrera#LF
J Bautista#1B
A Lind#DH
D Navarro#C
C Rasmus#CF
N Reimold#RF
J Francisco#3B

Hurts not having EE or Lawrie in there. The batting order did look a lot worse last week with Bautista, Lind, Rasmus and Lawrie out for a game or 2.

Not good when you had a platoon of Francisco/Lawrie/Tolleson for 2nd and 3rd and you lose Lawrie and every team discovers that Francisco can't hit non-fastballs.

Baltimore just won again.

Can we fire Gibbons now?

Assuming the Jays do nothing and piss this season away, Rogers and AA will have blown all the goodwill built over the last while. A large part of it was killed during the hype fueled disaster season last year, but this year is worse.

It's too bad, they were so close to making this team relevant.

I still hate the Dickey trade.

The fundamentals on this team are ridiculously bad.

lol typical Blue Jays, give fans some hope and then absolutely blow it.

Sell the farm to make the playoffs, at this point I don't care.

So much yuck from this team lately.

Injuries don't help, but what a disaster the past month.

Finally get a lead and then the pitchers after being decent lately start to suck.

I could be ignorant (and likely am) but the Blue Jays seriously need a shake up move or something.

I know there are injuries, but at this point im not sold on the Blue Jays still being in the race when everyone is back.

Do something bold please!

5 straight losses with 6 total runs scored? I'd like to be optimistic but with Lawrie and Edwin gone for a few more weeks and the entire lineup seemingly slumping, this feels like a season killing stretch. Now 3 games back of the O's and a half game up on the Yankees. Need some sort of shakeup.
