hoping a change in scenery does him wonders because he was a beast in College
Only risk is his contract, which SEA already had him cut a year off of to keep him around the first 5 weeks.
He was only benched once in his 2+ years, but was getting out played by Tatupu, as well as average, smaller, less athletic LB's like Leroy Hill and David Hawthorne.
Change of scenery is all he can hope for...he remained positive in SEA, and never a peep out of him trouble wise, but again, he had all sorts of opportunity in all situations over the years, and consisently did little to nothing.
His draft combines (which Davis loved) was off the chart, and he was a humble, smart and well spoken guy out of the NCAA, but just not wired mentally for the pro game it seems.

ya, for a 4th and a 7th not expecting big things
but you never know, wouldn't be the first guy who just needed time, Wimbley was thought of as a bust in Cleveland but has been playing at a pro-bowl level in his year and 5 games in Oakland
and if Curry can ever realize his potential, Wimbley/McClain/Curry could be one of the great LB groups in the league for a long time. All in their early-mid 20's
Some talking heads in the NFL have said that in the right scheme Curry might bounce back. Great pick up for that cost.
Definatly a nice potential trade for the Raiders. Curry was a standout at Wake. They need help at LB outside were Groves is and MLB. McClain had a good rookie season but so far this year he is struggling esp against the run. Wimbley has been great.
I wonder who made the deal Mark Davis isn't a football guy, Trask probably ok'd the deal but I can't help but think Hue Jackson made the trade.

That's a bit of a stretch. Wimbley was very solid in Cleveland.

With the NFL trade deadline looming, the Broncos have been in talks with other teams regarding Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd, according to three NFL sources.
The Broncos are believed to be seeking anywhere from a third to fifth round draft pick in return. There have been "three or four" teams who have expressed interest in Lloyd, according to a source, with Carolina and Tennessee believed to be among them.
I know only a few of us might he interested in this, but reports suggest that Arrowhead is getting a new name and corporate sponsorship in KC. A real shame...but I suppose a sign of the times.
Apparently it will be announced for the Monday Night game against the Chargers on Halloween. No word on who thesponsor is but "...you won't have to google to see what the company does."

Ever since they started trying the odd throw to Steve Breasten it seems like the offence has been improved considerably. Enough of the offensive line coach dink and dunk attack where you throw the ball 50 times a game to get 200 yards.
Maybe they're good enough to win 5 or 6 games this year if they can keep getting the ball to Bowe and Breaston.
Last season if the Chiefs were down, they abandoned the run completely and tried to put the game in Matt Cassel's hands. It didn't work. Against the Colts last Sunday, the Chiefs ran the ball effectively with Battle running for 120+ yards and Jones making some key runs as well. It seemed to take some pressure off of Cassel and he was able to get the ball down field. It was against the Colts however, still that is the first big comeback I can remember this team making in the Todd Haley era.

I felt the same way when the Superdome got sponsored a couple of weeks ago (Mercedes-Benz). I'm already over it though, it will always be the Superdome, Arrowhead will always be Arrowhead.
Not sure about Arrowhead, but the Superdome is a state owned building, they were actually paying the Saints to play there. The M-B agreement makes sure the state is off the hook with the new agreement, so I'm all for it.

Agreed. I remember a similar situation in Calgary in '94 when they changed the original name of the Olympic Saddledome to the Canadian Airlines Saddledome. People worried it'd lose its image. But here we are 17 years later and people still call it "the Dome", didn't really change anything.
After getting over the initial shock of it, I actually kinda like the name Mercedes-Benz Superdome, makes me laugh. Just sounds so slick, like all the fans should be sippin champagnya or something.
It has been an absolute pleasure watching Brandon Lloyd play with the Broncos. I have seen more unbelievable catches this past season and a half than I have ever seen from Broncos players. It reminds me of the old Air Coreyall Chargers with Fouts throwing to guys like John Jefferson, Wes Chandler and Charlie Joiner and it seemed every week one of those guys would do something jaw dropping.
Lloyd would be a great addition for a team looking to boost its passing game heading into the playoffs.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Brian Dawkins and D J Williams moved as well.

Schefter was saying the Eagles should trade for Dawkins and Williams. I'd be all for it. Letting Dawkins go was one of Andy Reid's biggest gaffes (and that's saying something).
Brandon Marshall is planning to get himself thrown out of the game before halftime apparently. At least when we suck we do it with a cast of characters that a Hollywood writer couldn't dream up.

i know the Broncos are rebuilding but isnt Lloyd a guy that you should keep and have as one of your core guys going forward? Has he said he wants out? Or is this the case of the Broncos indirectly trying to get Luck next year by starting Tebow and not giving him much to play with?

Lloyd's a UFA after this season and he's due for a big pay day. The Broncos have 3 young receivers they are very high on in Royal, Decker and Thomas.
I'm sure they've talked about an extension, but they can't break the bank for a 30 year old WR who plays a position they are fairly strong at.

Still? Granted, I haven't seen much of him since his rookie year but I thought injuries had kind of derailed him for the most part.
Royal must have killed McDaniels dog, once Josh started Royal became an afterthought. His groin exploding a few weeks ago didn't help. That said, Royal is an amazing talent and is a prototype slot receiver I think. IF this Thomas fellow can manage to get healthy and produce at the level we all thought he could when drafted then the Broncos are set. Decker is a great #2 option.
Lloyd can go kick rocks IMO. Now in a contract year after a career year in the McDaniels crazy pass offence, I highly doubt he ever comes close to matching that production again. Coupled with him basically crying to the media that the offence is too conservative I have no issue with them getting whatever they can for him right now, he's gone after this year anyway.
Schefter saying that Eddie Royal has asked for a trade out of Denver along side Lloyd and is getting more interest than Lloyd at this point.
And the Texans getting Mason will cost them nothing unless he catches more than 32 passes...at which point the price becomes a 7th round pick.
I wonder how much Royal's request has to do with benching Orton.
Would love to see the Broncos grab Mariani out of Tennessee for Lloyd.
Pretty surprised by Royal. Quiet guy that is a model citizen and true professional. Pretty shocked actually.
