Now I'm just spitballing here because I really dont know. But...is this potentially a re-initiation of the Pogroms?
I didnt really think of an anti-Semitic angle to this...but there is historical precedent for this.
I must say...while that would give an identifiable cause to what seems inexplicable...it would be in seriously dangerous 'tinfoil hat' country.
I thought most of the world was largely done with the irrational hatred of Jews.
Russian media never press the point that Zelenskiy is Jew. I actually learned it from war coverage. I learned about prime minister being a Jew from your post. When it comes to Jews, Putin is more like Stalin than Hitler. Some pro-Putin oligarchs and journalists are jewish
So just a run of the mill everyday bull#### invasion then.
If I was a Russian citizen I would be ashamed of myself, my country, and my implicit support for the regime that is carrying out this premeditated war.

I don't think Russian citizens wanted this.

NATO (including Canada) is sending more troops into Poland and the Baltic states right now. As for having USAF doing sweeps in an active war zone, I don't think that is the greatest of ideas. There maybe a cool down and a no-fly zone at some point however.
I don't know, I think if the US told the Russians they were going to be conducting sweeps in force, 20 or 30 at a time with full counter electronic support and that the Russians needed to stay out of their way, say stay below 15,000 feet just to be safe it is clear the Russian kit is lousy and they would get wiped out if they pushed back, if you can keep the Russians scared edgy and down in Javelin range it would be worth the risk.
Putin is having his arse handed to him right now, the last he and the Russian Airforce would want to do is escalate and it might actually give Putin and excuse to stand down, as terrible as this is for the Ukraine this is an utter disaster for Russia, their forces have been exposed as utterly incompetant

We are.

If they don’t want this, then maybe they shouldn’t implicitly support it and do something about it.
Mr. 5’6” is in power because Russians are content to let him be in power. They can choose a different path.
And before you say “it’s dangerous” yea, no kidding.
But look at what you are forcing the Ukrainian people to do to defend their country.
Maybe it’s time to look in the mirror at the people that are enabling this regime to remain in power.

A foreign country is fighting for freedom. Actually fighting.
Canadian truckers are honking horns and eating timbits because they don’t understand science.
Get that bs out of here.

Easy to say when you're in Calgary and you arent going to have watch your wife raped before you take a bullet to the back of your head for the actions you casually suggest

But the truth is clear, regardless of where it is typed from.
If Russians don’t like what their government is doing, then that’s on them to change their government.
I can’t do that from here. No one in the world can but them. So it’s not me being full of bravado. It’s me saying that if they want change, they have to be willing to fight for it the same way they are forcing the Ukrainian people to fight for theirs right now.

Damn, seems like a ripe time for everyone with Russian grievances to counter attack or stir #### up. Georgia is pretty pissed off right now, what about Chechnya and Dagestan? Probably your one shot at making something happen in recent memory.
So the truckers made war and attacked the government? They did not!
I understand some truckers were nut cases. Still no violence.
Government declared a state of emergency. Non violent protest.
We put in harder restrictions to truckers than what we did for Russia.
That is really sad.
Wrong thread for this.
####
Not only off topic but also brutally stupid.
Where do you live? I'm betting it's not downtown Ottawa
What do you do for a living? I'm betting it wasn't directly interfered with by border blockades
Protests are fine
Illegal blockades and occupations are not, and it doesn't matter if they are violent, they're illegal and cost the Canadian economy MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars.
Sorry to go OT but it's hard to let this idiocy spread.

The denazification was referring to neo-nazists participating in 2014 revolution, which is both true and severely embellished by Russian media at that time. There was also some degree of Ukraine's hate towards USSR past and this sometimes resulted in a heroisation of ukranians who fought against Russia/USSR on side of Nazis. This is also severely embellished by Russian media. And to be clear, I am half-jewish myself.
But the truth is clear, regardless of where it is typed from.

I get where this is coming from. At this point everyone is desperately looking for someone, anyone to step in and stop Putin. Coup, CIA assassination, Russian revolt, magical victory by Ukrainian army, death from COVID, anything.....
