Leaves the compound, doesn't realize real streets are way busier than Seahaven streets, and gets hit by a bus. Lauren learns of his death and spirals over losing Truman again. She pulls herself out of the spiral and goes after all the key execs and actors in the Truman Show, Lady Vengeance style, recording it all and uploads each kill online after it's done. Movie finishes with her hanging Christof from the Seahaven sun by his balls.
Watched a few Nolan films recently. I've put off watching Tenet for a while, after reading a bunch of review/posts about how confusing it was and you need like 5 rewatches to understand it. I found it to be very good and actually was no so difficult to follow along. Gave it the GQ article on it a read afterwards that explained it and I am fully satisfied I understand what happened. Very solid film and I'll probably rewatch it again fairly soon.
Also gave Momentum a rewatch last night. I found that actually a lot more difficult to follow then Tenet, but still a very solid film. Wife and her friend we watched it with didn't like it and were confused the entire time, but it all clicked with me.
Nolan is a madman with all these crazy time shifting ideas going through his head. Literally the mathematic meme guy.
Watched The Monkey. Bleh, dumb film. Not scary at all and the splatter-gore scenes were dumb. Interesting concept, but bleh.
Did you mean Momento?
That is one of my all time favorites. True classic imo. I watched it quite a few times and always loved that I picked something new up everytime either in plotline or how it all tied together.

Watched Black Bag on the weekend. It tried to be more than what it really was and failed, good premise or not. Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender don't work well together. Overall about a 5 or 6 out of 10.

I went and saw Thunderbolts*. I recommend it. I like the characters of Yelena and Red Guardian, and was familiar with the movie Black Widow and the TV show Hawkeye (both of which exceeded my expectations).
If you don't like Superhero movies, or those characters, then skip it.
I found it to be an alternatingly funny, and then surprisingly thoughtful statement about depression and isolation. I liked that each of the anti-heroes was deeply flawed, and had a lot to be ashamed of in their pasts. Each was questioning why they should continue to go forward, and this movie provided a vehicle for them to experience redemption through friendship.
I also find David Harbor to be a pretty damn good actor. Red Guardian is a joke... but has these moments as a father that were heartbreaking.
Excellent fight sequences (as you would expect). CG wasn't distracting.
Julia Louis Dreyfus was classic JLD. Couldn't get enough. Love her.

I watched Summer of 69 last night and it was ok. It’s good to see someone take a chance with a sex comedy these days. Chloe Fineman plays a stripper, and she doesn’t get naked, but another SNL alum does, hilariously.

I'm not sure if the director took any influence from it, but I got some The Boys vibes with certain scenes and shots.

Watched a couple of movies based on Farley Mowat stories lately - Never Cry Wolf, and The Snow Walker. Both were northern-themed, had beautiful scenery and haunting music. Worth the watch:

I watched Novocain with Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder (main actor from the "not bad" Predator movie Prey).
If you like Jack Quaid, low budget action, and body horror you'll like this movie. His "super power" is that he doesn't feel pain. So the plan is basically you'll watch disgusting things happen to his body, he'll make a sarcastic comment, and then use his lack of pain to take down a bad guy. You're supposed to go "ewwwww! OMG, WTF? I've never seen that before" and then start laughing at the absurdity of it.
If that sounds like something you'll enjoy, then it's probably a 7/10. If you don't like Jack Quaid, who pretty much just plays Jack Quaid in things (peaking in Lower Decks IMO), or you don't like gross special effects, then definitely skip it.
Amber Midthunder was excellent as the love interest, and provided more emotional backstory than would be expected in a film of this type. Not sure if she was aiming for a career of "everything she's in is above expectations, not great, but definitely better than I thought it would be!" but here we are. Better than the alternatives.

How can you not like Jack Quaid? He's Hollywood's Good Boy.

That was Sisu for me. Absolutely ridiculous, but it's always loads of fun to watch someone mow down Nazis in creative and spectacular ways.
