This whole "information age" warfare is weird AF. I wonder how much of the talk about a spring counteroffensive is just speculation vs. leaks vs. disinformation? Are there any benefits to Ukraine for the invaders to know this is coming? Or perhaps to know that *something big* is coming, but not knowing when, how, or where?
I would think the ideal scenario would be to have the invaders think you're defeated, then out of nowhere shove a battalion of tanks up their flank...or something like that.
Russians would actually have to be winning to do this. Instead they decided to propagate and try a offensive so ineffective and impotent that we barely knew it happened.
Read up on D-Day, the Germans absolutely knew that the allied would be landing in Europe, and had actually built a very formidable defense line called the Atlantic Wall in preparation for such a landing, the question was where. The allies made sure that through deception and leaked plans that the Germans would find out that Calais would be the landing, with deception attacks planned in Normandy and Norway. The ruse was so complete, that when Hitler eventually found (he slept through vital hours and no one dared to wake up to tell him), he thought this was just a deception attack and the real attack was still coming to Calais. D-day most definitely not a sure thing and was an extremely risky landing where information could have impacted its success.
A bit more obscure and not as well known is the ruse behind the invasion of Sicily.
And all those numbers of tanks and weapons we here all the time in recent months? None of these are being used on the front right now. They aren't going to be sitting idle the whole war... There is a reason Russians are panicking and building trenches all over the front.

I think it's all bad. Looks like Twitter has two labels now: state-affiliated and government funded.
Used to be state affiliated but Musk got flamed badly and had backpedal hard so he put NPR in it's own category to preserve his ego. He's still insisting on the "government funded" label when only 1-2% of NPR is actually government funded. I wish all news organizations were required to report their funding sources and shareholders if anything.
When I saw this on Reddit, people were commenting that this is the Wagner calling card. They famously set sadistic booby traps in conflicts in Syria and Africa the ####ing animals.
This war needs to end. Seeing this depravity in the 21st century is mind-numbing.

War ending ASAP means Ukraine concedes their losses, Russia gets to keep what they stole, and we get to do this all over again when they recharge (I know you don't mean it that way).
Better said is that the war needs to end on Ukraine's terms, and that means liquidating each and every russian invader on UA territory until russia is too weak to fight back. I wish the west would stop ##### footing around, but hopefully that is just psyops and the counteroffensive, whatever/whenever that is, is the deciding blow to the Orc invaders.

I definitely agree with you. I do hope the war ends sooner rather than later, but I hope it ends as a result of Ukraine ####-kicking the Russian's to the point where it incites another fall-of-the-USSR fracturing.
More war crimes. There is another video floating around of a Russian soldier beheading a live screaming captured Ukrainian soldier with a combat knife. It's NSFL and I'm not posting that one here, but you are free to try to find it yourself, but be warned. This type of stuff is absolutely barbaric ISIS level #### and they deserve the orc label.

Careful now, you wouldn't want to dehumanize them with that label.

Wagners recruited from the worst repeat mass murderer's and cannibals Russia's prison systems had to offer. The growing war crimes reflect this. Earlier I would have been in the humanize camp, but I can't after seeing some of those videos.
