Don't think teams really care who the players vote for, although voting for Trump is pretty despicable.

It's everything else he does.

Tyson Barrie is 33 years old and got a PTO. Deanglo is probably the better player and 28 and he is in Russia.

Since about 50% of people in the US will vote for Trump, while we may think its despicable, they will feel differently about it down there.

There would be a number of Flame players who would support Trump.

I doubt the Flames have made a decision yet. If they were so sure at this point then they would have signed him to a deal in the first place instead of a PTO.

Why would anyone care who the voted for. It’s a democracy. It’s encouraged to vote for who you want.

Sucks because that probably bumps guys like Crushnikov off the roster.

Why dump a bunch of old dmen last year and then sign an older defender this year. Defense is the one area we have a surplus of good young defenders

Earlier this year Servalli said he expected Draisaitl might sign for $14 million per year. But when Oilers Now host Bob Stauffer suggested the combined annual cap hit of Draisaitl and McDavid might be $30 million, Seravalli said, “I think it’s going to be less than that."

According to Seravalli, talks between Draisaitl and the Oilers have not progressed as smoothly as many had anticipated and both sides are "further apart" than initially believed.

Seravalli suggests that Draisaitl could negotiate a similar deal with the Oilers. If Draisaitl signs an eight-year, $113.6 million deal with some salary deferred, his cap hit would drop significantly. For example, deferring $33.6 million over 40 years could lower his annual cap hit from $14.2 million to around $10 million, which would help the Oilers manage their salary cap better.

If Barrie is signed, it could make the flames more prepared to trade Andersson early in the season. Obviously Andersson is much better than Barrie so I would not expect him to be a perfect replacement… but it will help protect a rookie from playing in a spot he may not be ready for (Brz for example).

I'll never quite understand the desire to dump on insiders.

Frank reports what he hears and seems to have some process of ensuring the source is legit (likely has sources with teams everywhere).

Elliott only reports things that are confirmed to be happening, that he's trying to break first. Elliott will report on stuff he heard that didn't come to fruition after the matter has kind of sorted itself out.

So, do you want to hear only the news? Or do you like to hear rumours, which is what this thread is about.

Rumours don't all come to fruition.

If they do end up signing Barrie it will be for the 7th d position. The youngsters like gru and bru are going to need playing time. The odds of them making opening night roster without injuries was always slim.
