You're so right - it has to be incredibly hard. 22 players, 2 managers, and 80,000 fans screaming at you - a billion more at home on television.
It's 2011 - why are we sending one man out there to do the job all alone? Ridiculous. Not using the technology we have is like passing on anesthesia meds and using a stick and some whiskey before surgery.

Looks as though Wenger has brought in Jens Lehman as a backup keeper until the end of season. He certainly should add some fire to their training sessions.

As much as I want to rag on them for this being a ######ed move, it really isnt.
Besides the fact that he and Almunia actually hate each other and that Lehman is a dick, he is (was) a good goalkeeper and Arsenal are really at the point where they didnt have anyone else.
All of Arsenal's fans screamed for Wenger to get a goalkeeper, well, here he is.

Sir Alex says United will be lucky if Rio returns before the end of the season. There is about a 50% chance he is lying, and I hope he is, or the road to any trophies becomes much more difficult.
With Rio - 0.66 goals against per game
Without Rio - 1.43 goals against per game

Graham Bean, who acts on behalf of Sir Alex Ferguson in disciplinary matters, has accused the Football Association of acting "like a communist state".
"What everyone has missed because they have focused on this big ban on Sir Alex, is that Martin Atkinson made one of the biggest blunders of the season in not dealing with David Luiz and he has got off with it, nothing has happened to him," Bean told ESPNsoccernet.
"That cannot be right that the ref is protected in that way, and then the FA hammer Sir Alex. I have seen confidential reports where Atkinson is criticised by the assessors at the game in the way he dealt with David Luiz and that he didn't deal with the incident the way he should have done.
"The FA has become like a communist state in the way that you cannot speak out against authority. It is becoming clear that if you are in football you give up your right to freedom of expression."

These Fergie apologists just don't get it. It is fine to suggest that referee's get calls wrong and possibly influence the outcome of the match. I've heard that many, many times over the years. What he did was question Atkinson's integrity and professionalism, which you simply cannot do. Sure it was possibly one of the biggest blunders of the season, and Atkinson most assuredly knows that now. But was it his intention to deliberately and maliciously subvert United's chances in that mach? Probably not. So to question his fairness and integrity was completely out of line. Had he said that he got it completely wrong and that call probably changed the course of the match and cost his side the 3 points - good on him; that is his right as the manager. What he did was absolutely not OK and there is no explaining it away. He deserved the 5 match ban. Maybe next time he'll try to engage his brain before embarking down the path towards yet another refereeing diatribe.

I fully support everything he has said. Atkinson is a first class wanker with a long history of bad calls and it's clear he isn't going to get any better, yet he is still employed.

Bad news for Spurs, opportunity for everyone else. Namely Liverpool. Lets go you Reds! Gain some ground.

he Club is delighted to announce that Gareth Bale has signed a new four-and-a-half year contract which runs until 2015.
The Wales international is regarded as one of the top young players in Europe after playing a key role in our run to the quarter-finals of the Champions League including an unforgettable hat-trick against Inter Milan at the San Siro and a Man of the Match display when the reigning European champions came to north London a fortnight later.
The powerful left-sided Wales international joined the Club as a 17-year-old from Southampton in May, 2007 and has gone on to make 112 appearances in our colours, scoring 17 goals.
The 21-year-old's electrifying displays on the left flank were instrumental in helping the Club to fourth place last season, with winning strikes against Arsenal and Chelsea, and he continued where he left off so far scoring 11 goals in 34 games in the current campaign.
Manager Harry Redknapp reacted to the news by saying: "It's great to have Gareth sign a new contract at the Club.
"He is a fantastic player and the type of player we need to be keeping at Spurs.
"Gareth is now one of the top left sided players in the world, he really is an amazing talent and can only get better. He is a smashing lad as well which is equally as important.
"He has got his whole future ahead and he has everything going for him."
Back in the side for today's Premier League meeting with West Ham, Gareth added: "I am enjoying my football at Tottenham. I want us to keep going forward as a team and hopefully we can achieve big things.
"We have got a great squad that is still young and we are going places. It is great to commit to this club and hopefully we can achieve what we believe we can with this squad. The players want what the fans want, and performing in front of these fans is a special experience.
"I definitely believe we can challenge for a title very soon. That is why I have signed. Every year as a minimum we are aiming to qualify for the Champions League so we are definitely going in the right direction.
"We have proven in the Champions League this season that we can compete with the best and we are in the last eight now and there is no reason we can't go further this season and in years to come."

hopefully this will shut people up about him leaving

Arsenal blew it again. Man U was in danger of dropping points (again) but they did what they do best (again).
I still hate them.
