Oh man...tragic, tragic, tragic. I am seriously crushed right now. I now have no idea what to use for an Avatar, since they didn't do it on Monday. I feel like a man without a soul.

I will not be surprised when Russell is picked up by some team at a massive discount from what he was making....all in hopes that his "awakening" has occurred and he has learned his lesson and will be better going forward blah blah blah.
The guy was awful from day 1, was only valued as highly as he was by the one team that took him, and will never ever be an everyday NFL QB.
he would make a great OL though.

Don't insult lineman. Just because you're 3 bills doesn't make you tough enough to play on the line! You need to show some toughness and agility, not the ability to launch a football 75 yards from your knees. If he could take long snaps and heave the ball down the field on 4th down....than he might have a use in the league.

This is bad news for Chiefs fans. Whats next? Al Davis buying the farm?

Why would Russell even care about playing again. He's got 39 million reasons to hang out at the Country Kitchen Buffet all day.
I'm betting he's done with football, he's never been all that motivated to play the game.

I'm betting he's gone through about 38 million of that in food alone.

Unfortunately this is the truth. Russell doesn't have the desire or drive to play professional football which is a shame because he has all the physical tools. It's possible that he signs on with another team but if he didn't want to work for $39 million I can't imagine him busting his butt to earn 2nd or 3rd string money. Unbelievable anyone could pocket $39 million for such little effort or dedication.

Raiders continue an already good offseason for that franchise. The light at the end of the tunnel is beginning to show, although in the case of Al Davis that probably isn't a good thing.

Ex-Oakland Raider QB Jamarcus Russell added to Ti-Cats Neg List
http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl..._pick_falcons/
Quote:
JAMARCUS ON TICATS NEG LIST: Jamarcus Russell, released officially by the Oakland Raiders Thursday, would be Hamilton bound if the embattled quarterback ends up in the CFL. The former No. 1 overall draft pick, arguably the biggest bust in NFL history, was added to the Tiger-Cats negotiation list last weekend. Only 24, Russell will have made $39 million from the Raiders, where he finished with a 7-18 record as a starter.

Hopefully the NFL and the NFLPA use this as motivation to fix how draft picks are paid. Maybe if a player like Russel only got $1 million a year for the first three years he would have busted his ass to earn that bigger pay day. Instead he signs a huge contract before he even takes a snap and is basically set for live (if he manages his money right, only a 30% chance of that according to statistics).

It pisses me off that he has shown himself to be yet another stupid NFL player. The rumours leading up to the draft about him and Matthews should have been enough to get him to stop, playing chicken with the drug test is going to bite you in the ass everytime.
I just hope this doesn't turn into another Shawn Merriman situation where he becomes much less effective once he comes off the juice.

Not at all, I remember hoping the Saints would draft him, but then reading several different sources saying he was a guaranteed steroids suspension.

That and these "draft Guru's" Mcshay and Kiper tell us that this is the next coming of Joe Montana. He is a huge bust and makes me smile to see those two idiots eat crow. I guess if they were so good at their job they wouldn't be working for ESPN and on a payroll of a nfl team.

J-Bust had a unique skill set to keep both his and the opponents in the game at the same time.

It is sad watching the Broncos sink to the bottom of the division. I hope McDaniels plan pays dividends quickly. I will not take looking up at the Raiders well.
