Smith-Doyle may be in line for an education tonight as it looks like he will start as the 9 and will be lining up against Doneil Henry. It will make him better

Finish the road trip strong boys!

At least Bevan is on the bench. I was worried we had another injury. Bevan is ice cold, so I don't mind the move. More importantly, with Henry as the #10, we can see some Henry on Henry as well!

Also, calling the penalty conceded by Doniel Henry right now.

Halifax will rightfully feel hard done by on that disallowed equalizer. But sometimes that happens - often to Cavalry.

On balance, Cavalry were better and deserved the win. Nice to see the padding in the standings, at minimum, remain in place.

7 points clear of second place. Did not see that coming 7 games into the season.

I want to win the league so bad so I can not get as invested in eventual playoff disappointment.

Also... what happened to Charlie Trafford between last year and now? The team does not look the same lately if he's out of the lineup.

I called Charlie out what, 4, 5 games ago and he is out there just trying to prove me wrong. You’re welcome

This team has taken it to another level. Klomp should win MVP and defender of the year. Kobza is a revelation. The attack is varied and lots of contributors. Henry looks like a shrewd pickup. Field is healthy and showing versatility playing as a fullback or CB. The mid season pickups have been superb

I’d like to see Joseph Holliday get the start on net on Saturday against Vancouver. Give Carducci a night off and get some U21 minutes banked. I expect we’ll see Harms at some point too in the last 4 weeks

I couldn't be happier with Mael Henry, he's an incredible dribbler and a formative threat through the middle. I liked Cantave but I much prefer this kid

Charlie got his energy from Ottawa tears after the game a couple weeks back.

Henry has really shown some flashes of brilliance this year. Not yet the finished product but there's a real player there. I also think that Smith-Doyle has really improved over the course of the year. At minimum he's leaped over Beckford on the depth chart and with Mason's inevitable departure I could see him getting a bigger role next tear.

Would love to see Holliday and even Harms getting some minutes Saturday against Vancouver. Lock that side of things down against a poor opponent.

Two things - Henry has been awesome, looking forward to his continued progression. And Klomp took another massive step up in his form and leadership this year too - as per his personal plan, I could see him MLS-bound soon. This is likely the last stretch of games we see him in a Cavs uniform IMO.

Goddamn the Cavs know how to develop players. This is a very valuable statline for the club.

Impossible not to be pleased with the Cavs this season. Though it is equally impossible not to be worried about the plays offs. Especially with this convoluted format.

How does it work again. 1st has to play at most three games at least 2?

We all know that somehow, some way, the under-achieving and undeserving Forgery will be a factor.

1st plays 2nd. Winner hosts the final.

4th hosts 5th. Winner travels to play 3rd. Winner of that game is away against the loser of the 1st v 2nd game in the semi-final.

So first and second need to win 2 games and get a second chance if they lose the first game. Advantage to being first is the guaranteed spot in the CONCACAF Champions Cup and home field for the 1 v 2 game.

October 28 or 29 which will be one of the earliest finishes for the CPL.

Previous finals (or second leg of final as the case may be):
2019: November 2
2020: September 19 (bubble year)
2021: December 5
2022: October 30

By only doing single leg playoffs they save quite a bit of time and they also have a mid-week playoff games (5 vs 4 is Wednesday Oct 11).
